Hey Steff, just wondered if you could start posting your results like you have in the past? Thanks.

Done at 9:13 pm!!!!!! I did a bunch of visiting so didn't get home as soon.
Jackson 5.24.08
360 Sprints (22 cars)
Wow, this was a great race!!!!
1- 87 Curt Lund (1)
2- 99v Gordy Vogelaar (2)
3- 9n Wade Nygaard (5)
4- 7 Chad Meyer (12)
5- 24 Jesse Drost (7)
6- 1B Brett Geldner (3)
7- 05 Bill Boles (13)
8- 5 Dave Glennon (6)
9- 99 Shawn Van Wyhe (9)
10-1HD Jake Leighty (19)
11-5m Mansfield? (14)
12-75 Brandon Geldner (17)
13-5t Mark Toews (4)
14-18 Russel Weise (8)
15-2 Stevens (11)
16-75c Casey Heser (15)
DNF 23W Scott Winters (10)
DNF 55 Joseph Kouba (16)
DNF 2b Bartels (18)
DNF 32A Anderson (20)
DNF 2H Jason Ekert (22)
DNS 62 Jerry Richert Jr. (19)
The feature got underway with Vogelaar taking the early lead from Lund. The top five, Vogelaar, Lund, Toews, Geldner, and Nygaard, got a bit of space as they raced around the track. At the halfway point, Vogelaar still had the point, but that was all Lund was going to allow as they caught lapped traffic, Lund passed for the lead as the leaders were bunched up in a great battle. By lap 12 Winters had worked his way up into 3rd, getting passed Vogelaar and chasing down Toews. With just a handful of laps left, lapped traffic became a bigger factor in the race as the leaders were again on top of each other. As the leaders took lap 18, Lund held a slight lead over Winters who had moved into second. Winters made contact and spun in front of Toews, retiring the 2nd place car, and sending Toews from 3rd to the tail in 16th. On the restart, Lund held off Vogelaar and Nygaard made a strong challenge, pulling alongside Vogelaar in a bid for second - coming up short, but everyone followed Lund across the line.
Stock Cars (13 cars)
Feature (15 laps)
1- 11k Siene (2)
2- 5t (3) – great job on the duct tape lettering, best I've ever seen as far as visibility for scoring!!!
3- 31 Schroder (5)
4- 5 (4)
5- 31L Lunenberg (11)
6- 21b Bodle (7)
7- 30 Bannister (1)
8- 04 Verdorn (8)
9- 6l Jeff larson (12)
10- 10G (6)
11- 79 Barglof (10)
12- 38 Anderson (9)
DNF TNT Tripp (13)
Great side by side racing. Siene pulled away and led flag to flag, but the drivers chasing him swapped position every lap. Couldn't ask for better side by side racing for 15 laps than these guys gave tonight. Fun race to watch, hard to score.
Double Barrel Sprints (8 cars)
Feature (15 laps)
1- 1N Atkin (4)
2- 8 (1)
3- 98 Yarns (3) HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
4- 42 Phipps (5)
5- 70 (8)
6- 13 (2)
7- 11A Anderson (6)
8- 0 (7)
13 had the early lead and held off the challenges until lap 7 when 1N got around him on the top side of turn three for the lead. For several laps Phipps and Yarns were in battle as Phipps would get a great run out of turn 2 and pull alongside and then Yarns would pull ahead out of turn 4 for position. #70 was using the outside lane to get around cars as he gained a couple positions in the final few laps. Great competitive racing!!!
Hobbies (13 cars)
1- 3k Stranberg (3)
2- 87 Briggs (2)
3- 66 Tate (6)
4- 901 (5)
5- 5L Larson (11)
6- 33R (7)
7- 14 Daley (8)
8- 99 (9)
9- 8 (10)
DNF 35B (1)
DNF 45 Barglof (4)
DNF 33c (13)
DNF 20N (12)
Great race. Once 3k got the lead from 87 he pulled away and never looked back. Good racing in the middle of the pack with 5L, 33R, 14, 35B, and 45. Started off the feature action with a good GWC race.

I heard several people asking about how the line-ups are done for the 360 sprinters after the races and so thought I would try to explain it as easily as I can....
Depending on how many heats are run, the top finishers in the heat are put into an invert like they have been with low point guy on the pole and high point guy in the back and new guys making the invert behind the regulars. There are 12 cars in this invert so like tonight, the top four from each heat made the 12 car invert. The twist that got most people is that there is then a draw by someone (I don't know who did it tonight) that decides what position from the invert gets to start on the pole. This twist gives the guys that come in a chance to start better than 11th or 12th, and still keeps the guys with similar point averages together. This is what happened tonight:
Transfers from heats :
Heat 1finish order: 11, 9N, 24, 23w
Heat 2 finish order: 2H, 99v, 5, 2
Heat 3 finish order: 5t, 18, 87, 1B
The line up was done like last year with low point average up front and the 2 new guys behind everyone else so it was:
2H - 99
18 - 2
23w - 87
99V - 1B
5T - 9N
5 - 24
Last year, this would have been the line-up. This year to give the travelers a chance, they draw a pill and tonight they drew #6. This means that the car scheduled to start in the #6 position (87 in this case) now starts on the pole and the line-up shifts from there to what we got. This meant positions 6-12 move infront of 1-5. So after the draw, the starting line-up was:
87 - 99V
1B - 5T
9N - 5
24 - 2H
99 - 18
2 - 23w
It happened that 2H was having troubles with his breaks and dropped to the back out of harms way and the outside got to move up a row, but this is how the line ups for sprints is done this year. I know it sounds confusing, but letting people know what is going on might help some understand so they can help others get it.
Hope this helps more than confuses.
Stephanie

Nice job last night!.
Great track.
Steph, I think it could add interest to your program, if you (announcers) explained the lineup procedures briefly during the intermission. Not to great extent, but promote the redraw a little.
Maybe the announcers could annouce what the lineup wouldve been, then have the driver (1st heat race winner, I believe) pull the pill on the frontstretch, and then have the announcers say how it changed the lineups. This could also help show the fans how it works, instead of having to answer the same question week after week.
Fastasu? Were you there?
The timing of the announcing during the races is considerably better this year. I like getting the lineups, prior to the cars warming up around the track, and they are doing lots better at that.

Sorry I don't know all the driver's names like I used to. Now that I score the races, I don't get to hear the announcers so I don't get the names. Looking forward to another great show this weekend, and less WIND.

To add to Steph's explanation of the sprint line-up procedure...
this method was discussed and decided upon by the racing committee, which is comprised of drivers and other representatives that compete at Jackson. It wasn't created to discriminate against one driver, like was being pouted about last Saturday night.
It sure seemed to make for an interesting show, as was evidenced by Saturday's 360 feature. There were some cars flying at low altitude, wind or no wind, and they had a great track to run on. Jerry Nutt and his "Department of Dirt" deserve a big "thank you" for their hard work during the week and so far this season. It's been tough with the wierd weather, but they're trying their darndest to give all the racers a quality racing surface.
And by the way, Shawn VanWhye drew the pill for the redraw last Saturday night.

Only problem us people had that were pouting was how the new cars that didnt have a point average were positioned. We also would like to say great job to Jerry on the track prep and keep it up.
