Knoxville Raceway

Practice Night

15 410s and 17 360s gathered for practice Thursday night at Knoxville. 360 rookies RJ Johnson and Cody Petersen looked smooth. Austin McCarl backed it into the turn three fences suffering minor damage. Tyler Thompson may have dropped a motor. Other than that, things went relatively smoothly. A brief rain shower brought things to a halt at 9 p.m.

WoO teams were told by their officials they could not practice…

What is the reasoning behind not allowing WoO teams to practice?

Its a good rule as it helps keep costs down. If not, all the big money teams would test a few days before each event. Plus, the Knoxville locals needs the practice if they want to make the A main on Saturday!

Coming up:

Oct 17th - Ocean Speedway: WOO
Oct 18th - Tulare Thunderbowl: WOO
Oct 30-31st - Perris Speedway: USAC Bud Oval Nationals

He is a young kid from South Dakota ,I wonder if is connected to Vance Peterson. looked pretty good for a first timer at knoxville in a low budget ride.

I wonder where Tatnell and Higday where .

Bill why does Higday have the number 1 ?

Car owner Dwight Snodgrass wanted to have the number 1 this year.

Cody Petersen has raced mini-sprints in the past and is originally from the Black Hills area. I believe he helped out Brian Carlson last year, and Doug Wolfgang in the past too. It's a Wolfweld chassis. No relation to Vance Peterson...notice the different spellings of the last name!

True, Josh Higday wanted to get rid of the x and wanted a number without a letter. I don't know if they forgot Pete Crall was already #1 or not, or if Pete has a different number this year, or they may be putting a letter on anyway. Is #5 available in the 360 class???

Thanks for the info, I knew you good for it.

After a few years off, Rod Richards might be getting the itch... ?

How could I overlook Rick? Hopefully, he'll get things going soon...well if Mitchell Alexander is running 305s, let's go with #6...
