29 cars, Spencer FT.

Rob went to car in parking lot. Seems there is an orange glow every 5-8 seconds from inside the car. Reporter says it seems to be about neck high. His high school ring???

Very -slow- fast time on a very -dry- track (shared with dirt mods), low-mid 17s.

Heats: Pombo (ahead of Spencer), Kruser (ahead of Sheridan), Jones, Hansen (ahead of Miller).

B Main: Royal Adderson !!! Cody Williams led thru lap 8, but bumped the wall and flatted his right rear. He got a new one and made it back from the back into the A Main.

A Main: As reported above, but even after a bit a wetting things down, it was -dusty-. Jones led from the git, with Kruser going by on lap 4. He led by a straightaway at lap 15 with Jones in 2nd and Sheridan challenging for a bit in 3rd.

The guy next to me showed me his lap timer at that point. Kruser in the low :20.00s. We could see the cars, but the dust -was- thick with a slight breeze blowing from east to west.

Super dust bowl tonight. Couldn't see any cars from turn 3 to mid straight away. Bruce Bromme said it was the worst he has seen (since 1996).

Cody Williams had 3 flats tonight. Nice to have only a couple yellows after the 7 flips 2 weeks ago.

I talked to some people after the race who said the same thing. Note to the PAS: I understand you need to make money, and you had a great crowd last night, but please, do not run those tin-tops as a support series to the sprints.

Its not always the support classes fault that the track is junk. I went to Tulare for GSC sprints & mods last night. 26 wing cars and 36 mods. Track was juicy all night!

Temps were in the high 80's in the central valley with a light breeze on friday and saturday, so its not like the weather was perfect for track prep either.

Prepping a dirt track is a lot like setting up a race car. Sometimes you hit the sweet spot, and sometimes you're junk lol. I wouldn't hammer on the PAS too much, more times than not the track is good.

Good point. I really could have been the weather, it was hot, dry, and windy all day long in Riverside yesterday. And your right, I should not hammer on the PAS, they always put on a good show, week in and week out.

I was with 4 adults and 2 children who had never been to the PAS and never seen a sprincar race before , last night was a poor first impression.

Let your friends know that the track condition last night was really bad but it does not happen like that all the time. I think that the hot weather and wind is what made it what it was . In my own opinion that was the worst I have ever seen that track and I have been going there for about 10 years. I spoke with a guy at the shell station and he said that it was his first time but he was going to come back again because he knew that it was not always going to be that way.

Love The PAS and anybody can have a bad night, but amen to poor first impression. I saw seasoned veteran sprint car fans leave the stands 1/2 way through the feature last night. I hope your friends are willing to give it another chance. I am.

I too have brought potential fans out from Ventura County only to have them dusted out. I have not been able to get them to try again.

My father is a retired record executive and someone once said to me, "Not every album is full of hit recordings, you have to buy the bad songs sometimes to truly enjoy the good ones!"

One more thing I have to add, how impressive was Cody last night to handle the adversity of 3 blown tires last night like he did!
