I know there are no typical crashes, but what on average does it cost to replace the damages done during a crash/flip? I see a lot of cars on youtube doing some pretty nasty barrel rolls. I'm looking into getting into VRA sprints from karting. I like the VRA because it is supposed to be cost effective but how much does a flip set you back?

Contact Anthony Simone in Nor-Cal. He has the most experience in this area.
.....and he's still drivin. Was in a 360 winger at Hanford last weekend and at Tulare before that. I still remember Anthony's entrance to the track for hot laps years ago at Hanford Kings Speedway. LOL.

First off your on the right track, carting to 360 sprint should be a easy transition. You know how to race, so you'll just need to get used to the characteristics of a Sprint Car.As far as the cost, first get a good used package, car, open trailer, tools, fuel jugs, spares[complete front end-2 sets radus rods-spare nerfs-spare bumpers]and figure all that money is gone.It will cost on average[fuel -tires -pit passes-]$800 to $1000 per night, barring a catastrofic event. Please don't skimp on safty equipment, racing is cheap compared to hospital visits....try Victorville first, wider track, easier to look and feel good while you get used to the car.VRA racers are hardcore and show little mercy for rookies.I'd sell all my 360 stuff mentioned above for $25000 ...but look around for the best deal for you $ .try to get someone with some real knowledge to look over any possible purchases..better to miss a good deal being carefull than getting screwed with a bad car....One other bit of free advice,a sprint car chassis builder can give you a base line set-up,get it and drive that set-up at least 10 races .you'll learn quicker if the cars the same every time you get in it.I set up last years Victorvilles sprint car champions car his first night out,he told me at the end of the season he ran that same baseline every race...air pressure/shock changes only....as in most racing it's the DRIVER .Good Luck. by the way,I'm not that smart,a veteran racer showed me that baseline set-up I just passed it on .Thank you Brian King.......
Yea, "Tony" can keep the wheels are the ground once in awhile . As so many know, it was always entertaining to watch him race. Those crashes he had at Ascot are forever embedded into my memory.
