That will run non-stop. Id like to see one race without the yellow flag during the main event. And the red!

I saw the subject of this thread and thought Al Drake wrote an autobiography.

The remainder of the title would have read "........besides Ocean Speedway" :-). He'll probably find a way to leave the porch to be at Calistoga Labor Day Weekend especially now that he knows his favorite Fair Manager will be long gone by then :-).....

At 4+ bucks a gallon, I cant afford to run my friggin lawn tractor much less haul the Rockford to stoga. Even rethinking my Laguna Seca camping strategy.
One race may well have been all I see this year.

Im tellin ya! it now officially costs $168.00 to fill the burb with 42 gallons!
Round trips:
Chico takes 2+ tanks.
Stoga takes 1+
Laguna takes about 3/4 (depnding on store runs n stuff)
Tulare takes about a tank and a half
I'll be on the porch in my rocker havin a beer and bench racing, lol...
Good thing we did the cross country drive to Knoxville when we did! Im not rich enough to afford it now.

Stu - Are you guys paying $4 a gallon down there now? I just filled up at CostCo yesterday for $3.15 here in FF. Chico is supposed to be even cheaper.
So, fill up with just enough to get to FF and then fill up here for the rest of the trip to Chico. Take four 10 gallon fuel jugs with you and fill them up there also. On the way back fill up again in FF and when you get home use the 40 gallons for the rest of the week to go to work.
By my estimate I just saved you $40 bucks if you go to Chico for the races.

And that $40 bucks can be used for a starter tank on the next race. By the time the season is over you will have made $1000s just in gas saving alone.
But then again it is no Laguna Seca and you only get to see left turns.

I guess I'll just say that it has been nice knowin' ya here on the board Al since I doubt you could even justify the fuel price tag for our little BBQ going away party tomorrow in San Jose (which you have been invited to but not yet RSVP'd for BTW). I say this because it will likely take a miracle to get you more than 100 yards from your house by the way you make it sound and we're moving to Chico in a week. I'd say "see you down the road" but, well, you know.....:-)....
