Terrific race with Mike Spencer edging out Cory Kruseman for the win. Spencer was very humble in his post-race interview giving credit to the Kruser and a third place Tony Jones. Fans seem to be warming to the "People's Champion Sprint Car Fund." Many thanks to Don Kazarian and Jim Cardey for getting this well deserved fund up and running. Also a big thank you to Raceway Video and Jeff Kristensen Productions for their generous offering of the professionally produced Leland McSpadden video from last year to contributors of $20 or more into the Championship Fund. Nothing but Class! Also due some credit is USAC's Kevin Miller. A few weeks ago he stated that he wanted some of the drivers to get out and sign autographs for the fans during the race program. Sure enough - Rickey Gaunt, David Cardey and new fan favorite "Cadillac" Cody Williams showed up in the concession area to do just that prior to the start of the main event. I knew that it went over big with the fans when my son and I were leaving the men's restroom and encountered a young fan, maybe 8-10 years old. As I looked close at the young man I noticed someone had autographed his forehead. I asked, "Who autographed your head?" He proudly replied, "Cody Williams!!" The most moving moment of the night was Tony Jones paying his respects to his #1 fan Dave Keller by taking a couple of laps in the Alexander #4, with checkered flag in hand. Tony was in the stands paying his respects to the man's family prior to the main event. Great tribute! Sometimes we forget about the great work done by Scott Daloisio, Chris Holt and Ronnie Everhart. Their hard work makes each night at the PAS enjoyable to us fans. In addition we had two new fans with us and they had a great night at the PAS. Long live the traditional sprint cars of the CRA and Perris Auto Speedway!

How did the fans react to the announcement of the Fans Championship Fund?  That is also a great gesture from Jeff at Raceway Video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I sure hope we can raise more money then anyone expects!

From what I saw and heard, the reaction from the fans was pretty impressive! Scott said they start announcing the totals at the next race. That offer from me is good for the balance of the season. Anyone at the souvenir stand or back gate contributing $20 or more to the point fund will get a free dvd. Keep in mind they are from previous seasons, nothing current. I still need to make a buck or two! LOL. We all need to do what we can to keep this alive, this is the least I can do.

Tripcrwn...nice post, there are many folks at the PAS that work hard at getting things done right, it starts with Donnie Kazarian, basicly he puts in a 7 day work week, Ray, Kim,Tanner and on down the line it goes. Scott is on top of the PR daily, his job never stops and Ronnie stays pretty busy helping out during the week also. Up on the roof Jeff is there in the heat of summer and freezing cold winter nights with his video camera, now that's what I call work. Last night marked the tracks 13th March 30 since opening day, to me it has always been a day at the races never a day of work. When I think of who should get thanks for the hard work, it is always the sponsors first then the push truck drivers, crews, car owners, officials and especially that little lady known for her bull horn, she is usally the first one there and the last to leave. When fans post a compliment on the message boards, I'm sure I can speak for everyone, it nice to know the results were worth the extra effort. And THANKS for bringing 2 new fans, glad they had a good time,

Great post Tripcrwn. Indeed a great night of clean racing at the PAS. The last 10 laps of the main was very exciting. I will second your comments about the staff at the PAS, makes the evening that much more enjoyable. Did see the kid with the signed forehead in pits afterwards. lol.

...and Cody Williams looked like a seasoned pro last night.

Hey Ralphie. we sit in your section and we didn't see anyone asking for money. We would have donated if we knew you were colecting money. I think that what ever we can give to the teams is great . We love the races and want to support them as much as possible. We also will donate to the points fund. chenobi

I forgot to mention the generous donation to Billy Blinn by the Ralphie Section. Just another reason why sprint car fans are the best. I think the image of the little boy, with Cody Williams autograph scrawled on his forehead will stay with me for a long time. Also, I regret that I failed to take note of another individual and his generous contribution of $250 to the Championship Fund. Scott D. mentioned his name several times during the evening.

Just wanted to say thanks to you for helping out with collecting the dollars and to everyone who gave there hard earned dollars for this cause. I will give 20.00 dollars everytime that I come to the races and we can build from there . Like Mr Blinn told me last night it made his night to know that people are willing to help out the racers when they can and that he appriciated it very much. Remember that every dollar counts and these guys appriciate it .

Thanks

I agree, it was an awesome night of racing. Too bad about Josh Ford though, I thought he might have had enough for Kruesman at the end of the feature, but he flipped. To quote Scott D., Josh Ford was "Dialed in" last night. He is going to win a couple of races this year. Is he only running Perris shows with USAC/CRA this year? Also, thanks to all my fellow fans for doing what they can to keep this great sport alive on the West Coast. I do not know what I would do if I could not watch the sprints on Saturday night.
