Post by Ronnie Rhoada on the big board
One of the biggest winged 360 sprint car events each year has gotten even larger for 2008 with the announcement of the first ever three day Cup. Billed as the “Tribute to Howard Kaeding”, the 15th Annual Trophy Cup will offer a record purse over three days of intense competition. Hosting the show will again be the Tulare Thunderbowl 3/8-mile track located at the fairgrounds in Tulare. Along with the most racing ever for the Trophy Cup, the highest purse in its 15 year history will be offered with $112,500 being paid to teams after the three days of action. Set for October 23-25, the 15th annual event has an all new format to determine how the $53,550 point fund will be distributed. The remainder of the $112,500 is paid in the racing purse that pays all the way down to the Saturday E main.

Hey whats up with the store? I went by the other day and it was all being renovated.
Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool,
but then I'm not 16 so therefore my opinion is of no
consequence...

Brad Scadden has been pushing for a tribute race for HK for a long time. It's great that Howard is finally being honored. You simply will not find a better guy. The only way to make the event better would be for the Comet to take a few laps in Brent's car

I hope they don't fiddle with the format to much, thats what makes this show so good.

The format is significantly different, but retains the emphasis on deep inversions. It would have been way too many paragraphs to cover it in a press release, but this week's column will have all the details. It should be done tomorrow.
