Jackson Speedway Sprint Car Spring NationalsSponsored by Van Wyhe Livestock and Folkens Brothers Trucking
The 2008 season at the Jackson Speedway is really starting to take shape. We are kicking off the season with a new event that will take the sprint car world by storm. With the help of two new sponsors, Van Wyhe Livestock and Folkens Brothers Trucking we are proud to announce the Jackson Sprint Car Spring Nationals.
The race will take place on Friday, May 9th, and will feature the 360 Sprint Cars, along with Double Barrel Sprints and a third class of sprints to be announced in the very near future.
This event will be the highest paying spring 360 Sprint Car purse in the Upper Midwest with first place paying $2500; $1500 for second; $1250 for third; $1000 for fourth; $900 for fifth; $800 for sixth; $750 for seventh; $700 for eighth; $650 for ninth; $600 for tenth; $500 for eleventh through thirteenth; $400 for fourteenth through sixteenth; $300 for seventeenth and eighteenth; and $250 for nineteenth through twenty-second.
The format for the 360 Sprints will be heat race passing points with the top ten in points competing in a dash for the starting line-up for the $2500 to win main event. We are currently in the process of lining up additional cash and contingency awards for the heat races and the dash.
Promoter Jon McCorkell had this to say about the event "I never would have dreamt we could put up this kind of purse for an event outside the Jackson Nationals and then we have two great new sponsors step forward, Van Wyhe Livestock and Folkens Brothers Trucking, and make this the biggest spring 360 Sprint Car race in the Upper Midwest."
In addition to this event being the season opener at the Jackson Speedway it also will be the inaugural event to the newly formed Jackson Speedway Touring Series. This series will be for 360 Sprints and include approximately ten events at the Jackson Speedway and various surrounding tracks.
Watch www.jacksonspeedway.com for more details in the upcoming days as we have many big things in the works.

Great news for Jackson speedway! A big THANK YOU goes out to these 2 area sponsor's, FOLKEN BROTHERS TRUCKING & VAN WYHE LIVESTOCK! These 2 sponsors have been involved in local sprint car racing for years and now they have really stepped up to the plate by being major sponsors for this local event. Hopefully Jon can get more support to add to this big event.

Great news and really excited to see this show come up. 2 questions.
Why isn't this on Saturday?
Why isn't this a 2 day show, or is it and not reading the release right with a special on Friday and a regular show Saturday?
Thanks.

The Friday is in hopes of getting more cars. Knoxville, Eagle, Hartford and Arlington all race on Saturday. So in many ways Friday is a little better choice,
Jon
PS also one of the main sponsors cars is racing for 410 points at Knoxville.

Normal Jackson Speedway rules for both motor and tires. See www.jacksonspeedway.com
So you can run open heads, sleeved down to 2.100 and also the RR tire rule will be the SC-25 RC-1 on the left.

I just changed my schedule again to add this race. This kind of pleasant surprise is why I always write my schedule in pencil.

Hey Jon are you leaving the RC1 LR rule for the season and if so I was just curious as to why? Does any other tracks have a LR rule the same or even at all?
