I propose we show some support for Tony Jones this Saturday at Perris. I believe some "SHOW ME THE MONEY" signs are in order. Anyone with me on this??
If we can get a good amount of these signs in the grand stands I think it will send a strong message to USAC that us fans do not appreciate their conniving, backhanded tactics.
These teams work too damn hard to put on a good show, week in and week out, to be treated in this sort of matter.
Show your support for Tony Jones, the Alexanders, and all the hard working teams of our beloved "West Coast" sprint cars. They deserve it.

If you really want to send a strong message, call the racetrack and tell them why you won't be coming to the races this weekend. Stay home or go somewhere else. Companies and organizations don't listen until their wallets start getting light.

It will be extremely hard for me to stay away. I enjoy going to the track on Saturday nights.
This is the best form of protest I could come up with short of boycotting USAC altogether.

I will first admit that I do not know exactly how the money works in this situation. But a boycott of the races this Saturday seems like a bad idea to me. Though it would possibly get USAC's attention, I doubt they would hurt much financially from it. Who it would hurt is the PAS, and they are our friends and do not seem to be directly involved in this misunderstanding. See you at the races.

I have to admit the stands full of signs waving to support the racers on the parade lap would be unique to my experience and hard for USAC to ignore. Especially if someone were able to get national press coverage of the phenomenon, preferably TV. THAT would get some attention for sure.
But I would add a warning to that. At this point we have really only heard one side of this story. You could end up having a crow sandwich on Sunday if USAC comes back with reasonable explanations for their actions.
Perhaps there will be some answers on the USAC Racing Show with Rob Klepper tomorrow.

USAC has had ample opportunity to "come back with reasonable explanations for their actions" and haven’t been forth coming with anything yet. I believe that this fact alone speaks volumes. And as far as not hurting the PAS goes, they may not be directly involved in this "misunderstanding", but they were sure in on the ground floor for giving SCRA the boot and bringing USAC in. As far as I’m concerned, PAS and Ventura should both be boycotted for that reason alone.

Kevin Milller (USAC President) has responded in the Riverside Press-Enterprise newspaper. See Lance's post under SHOW ME THE MONEY $$$$ above. I think if someone would approach a large sponsor like Pick A Part or someone along those lines, and have them pay for the posters, with their name on it. Then they could be passed out at the gate this Saturday night to all the race fans. That would make a statement.

Bring Your $ signs to the track if you wish but to punish the track for something they have nothing to do with is just plain stupid. Whether or not they had a hand in bringing in USAC or not does not taint what the PAS has done for open wheel racing in So Cal. PERIOD! Without the PAS you wouldnt have a sprint car race to go to so punishing them is simply moronic at best!.
If there has ever been a track to listen to its fans it is the PAS! They have done just about everything possible to make your time spent there very enjoyable! The issues being discussed here have to be settled by the owners, track and sanctioning body and not us fans! All we can do is support our favorite teams and drivers and let the rest of them sort themselves out.
As a fan what can you do? Simple, quit spending money on stupid crap (beer, cigs., $5 coffee, $10 at McDonalds etc.) and find a team you would like to help out. I get sick of all of the whiny fans that do nothing to help anyone but continue to build callouses on their index finger by typing away and blaming everyone and anything they can without knowing all of the facts of any situation.
I happen to be on the side of Tony here and all of the drivers but more importantly I am on the side of the car owners because without them there are no cars for anyone to drive. Get out there and support the lowbuck team and/or volunteer your time if that is all you can do. They will appreciate that more then anything! It doesnt take much! I know there is a guy that buys the Alexander Team soft drinks for the pits (I dont know if it is every week or once in awhile but trust me, they appreciate it!) Get off of your butts and do something other then just complain! Clean out the garage sell your crap and on eBay and donate the money to a team if it makes you feel better! Buy a right rear, a jug of Methonal, a pack of Tear Offs whatever!

Seems to me that if you are at the track, with or without a $ sign, the track isn’t being punished. You are there, you’ve paid your admission fee to get in, the track has got their money, they’re not hurt one little bit. And you’re right, they’re having anything to do with USAC being here or not doesn’t taint what ever they might have done since then. But if you will go reread the original post, all RadRobinlb was proposing was to bring out the signs is support of "Tony Jones, the Alexanders, and all the hard working teams of our beloved "West Coast" sprint cars". Nothing was said in his post about boycotting the track. True, that subject was brought up in a subsequent post and I would go along with that idea, but because I believe that the PAS was a large part of why USAC is here and not SCRA. But, as I said, that was not a part of the original post.

Nor did I say that the bringing in the signs was Moronic! I said boycotting a track that had nothing to do with a sanctioning not fulfilling its obligations would be MORONIC!

I would actually like to know why as a fan any of us give a rats butt what acronym sanctions any of the races? How does it change the fact that you re going to be seeing the same drivers, same car owners and same cars in general at the PAS, Ventura or Manzy for that matter? You fans want to continue sticking your noses in the business that needs to be tended to by the track, car owners and to some extent the drivers. Let them sort it out and just sit back and enjoy the races! There isnt a darn thing we are going to do about it anyway!
Like I have said a bazillion times before, if you want to help out find a team you want to support and ask them how you can best to help them!

Why not ask Glenn Crossno of ITI Performance how much thier point fund check was for their Championship in 2006. Maybe a misunderstanding of how the point fund is distributed.

You know, you are absolutely right. The owners and drivers had just as many problems getting paid the promised points fund monies from SCRA as they are having getting the money from USUC.

Excuse me???
The ONLY time SCRA didn't distribute point $$$ was the final year (2004). Because of the travelling costs to different tracks, to help offset those expenses, SCRA added a little more $$$ to each purse in lieu of holding the $$$ till the end of the season. From 2003 and before, SCRA always paid the point fund as it was set up to be paid.

I wholeheartedly agree with supporting Tony, but I would'nt like to see USAC chopped off at the ankles or perris financially harmed..yet.A sea of 'Show Me The Money' T' shirts might be impressive ,so I'd advicate to anyone who has enjoyed the show these guys put on,show up to the next Perris race .A home made "T'might make your point better than a mass produced one,it is grassroots racing............
