If I wanted to buy 20 acres or more of Indiana farm land to be sort of centrally located to the good dirt tracks out there to have as a spring, summer, early fall retirement place to grow some hay etc. what towns would you guys recommend I look in?

I am just thinking for something in the future and land isnt getting any cheaper and retiring in California is out of the question and AZ is just too darn hot for the summers to stay when I get older!

Thanks,

Joe

Anywhere around Indianapolis to be centrally located.

The west side of Indy is where all the race shops are etc. if you like checking in from time to time and see whats happening.

I haven't been all over the state just yet but it appears that there's more vast farm land on the north side I like the area around Monroe and Brown counties and along US 50 myself. Real nice and scenic.

I lived a half dozen years a couple hours north of Indy near South Bend in Amish country. Great farm land and not over priced, close to everything you'll ever need, 'cept maybe Notre Dame, lol. Less than three hours from Attica, Fremont, Eldora, Gas City, Kokomo, Bloomington and some pavement tracks like Chicagoland Speedway and the Brickyard. Try it, you'll like it, Take It Easy.....

I still think the West side of Indy is the best place to be,and also be centrally located.

I didnt think anyone grew hay out here though, seems like corn is the most "in" thing out here followed by soybeans.

I decided not to wait till retirement to move out here. Theres to much racing going on!!

Look along the I-70 coridoor west of Indy., Putnam,Owen, and Clay Counties are all reasonable drives to Indy. and 2 to 2.5 hours form the burg and Gas City depending where you start from. Eldora isn't much farther. plus property taxes are half that and less of the Counties surrounding Indy.

This is not a invitation, way to many people from California have found us already LOL AZ is far from being all desert. I'll be heading down to Manzy for the Copper next weekend and they also have built a short track in Prescott valley. http://www.pvraceway.com/ ...http://www.welcometoprescottaz.com/
