Did you mean to say: "At the Chili Bowl, what was the payout to the drivers?" If so, it's not much.
PS- Quit yelling at people. Hint: If there is a little light on with an "A" by it, your caps lock is on.

I am pretty sure that the payout is of little concern to the people that raced there.

CHII BOWL WHAT WAS PAY OUT TO DRIVERS

I read, on an earlier Hosehead's post, that it was $10,000 to win.

Plus another $10,000 if you were using a MOPAR.

Thats a joke. Hopefully everyone saw the coverage on speed t.v. Pay per view, BIG sponsors, Bigtime racers from all open wheel (except IRL or CART) hope it stays that way, 280 cars and the winner gets 10g's and the fricking driller. Saldana even called Emmit a cheap S.O.B!

You will never see a payout of the "CHILI BOWL" it has never been advertised and never will be! Wonder why? Because it is ridiculis and if you saw it which i am sure you never will it is embarrasssing to all to even be there unless there was a actual chili contest like the grove's Hilton Titon gang! It is not a drivers race or a owners race, listen to what Joey said and that is the truth 12,000,00 fans on saturday x 30.00 = 360.000.00 not to mention times 3 other nights and hotdogs & beer & shirts! Oh Yeah they had the little guys for 4 days there before the chil bowl and had another 200 entries!

I like Joey, but if he didn't want to race for a cheap S.O.B...... well, he has his choice. Maybe he should find another dirt race in the U.S. in the middle of January then.
Fenders are like vacuums... they both suck.

Why is it that when a promoter makes money, people get pissed, but when they lose their ass, nobody cares? Did you stick your neck out with a huge investment years ago to build this event to what it is today? As "ridiculis" as you say the pay is, I'll bet it is one of the top 10 midget purses of the year. If the 280 cars didn't want to be there, they wouldn't go.
They've spent a lot of time and money to build this event to what it is today. I'm glad it's successful and I hope they made a huge pile of cash doing it.

Lonnie & Emmit are as strong of race fans that there are and they are always looking out for the racers too. They also realize that racers race for the love of the sport and you don't have to pay them a whole loy to get them to show up and they don't. They run very competitive shows that show their race savy by pleasing the fans ans well as treat the racers fairly. They are a great asset to the sport of open wheeled dirt racing, it's drivers and fans as a result they are in very good stead with their bankers.

"But when they lose their ass nobody cares". Remember early on when the ASCS was just getting started? Countless racing events with a guarenteed purse, attracting a good field of cars and only a few hundred in the stands. Do you suppose that just maybe some of the profits from the Chilibowl helped shore up ASCS?........and now they are successful, and the Chilibowl helped them get there. And then, the attempt to bring racing back to the expo center (Fair Meadows), another big looser. How many promoters have gone out on a limb and take chances like Emmitt has? His efforts and profits have helped to make dirt track open wheel racing what it is today.

Try 1100 entries for the Tulsa Shootout. I personally dont care about the pay out at either event. Just being part of it and making the show is our reward. I hope it keeps lining their pockets so it stays it Tulsa.

Maxi, your grasp of the facts is trumped only by your knowledge and spelling of the English language.
How much do you suppose it costs to store everything in the lower bowl (dirt, barricades, grandstands etc) for 11 months each year? How much labor and equipment fees to construct the track? I have the slightest idea what they pay their officials, but a weeks worth of hotel rooms have to be added to the cost of hiring help. How much rent do Lanny and Emmitt pay to tie up the Expo Center for a month every year? What does it cost to clean the place after we leave?
Beer and hotdogs? Looks to me like whoever owns the concessions contract for the Expo Center is the big winner there....I'll bet ya a set of next year's tickets that it isn't something that benefits the promoters.
12,000 fans? not even close. My guess is closer to 6000 in the stands and 2000 in the pits for Saturday.
Do you realize that instead of plopping a huge amount of money to Saturday night's winner that they payout every position every night, including the non-qualifiers on Tues-Fri? I know that to be true because I HAVE seen a payout sheet a few years ago. Granted that the lower finishing drivers only make a couple hundred each, but that is huge compared to similar shows...some of which only pay the A main drivers and everyone else gets a thank you.
I am sure that the the Edwards and Hahn families do profit greatly and I am very happy for that. I am glad that the amount of work and first couple of years losses have finally paid off. It's obviously not an easy thing to do as reflected by the amount of imitators that have tried to emulate their success. I am sure that Mr Saldana would like more money paid out, but he is probably happier right now that the promoters decided against a dolly parton purse.
What would paying more accomplish anyways? Put more driver's in the pits? Put more butts in the grandstands? Everyone knows the score before they show up or sign the entry blank...paying more would be wasted money.

All I am saying is why not post a payout! Every year there is never a payout listed before or after the race and why not pay the teams a little better with the amount be generated now compared to before! Sounds like a proper request and not "ridiculos" at all!

Your assault on Maxi aside (Patty Haudenschild - BTW) for her opinion you could have simply used your last paragraph to make your point because it couldn't have hit the nail more squarely on the head:
"What would paying more accomplish anyways? Put more driver's in the pits? Put more butts in the grandstands? Everyone knows the score before they show up or sign the entry blank...paying more would be wasted money."
Right, wrong, or indifferent there likely won't be an increase in the purse (advertised or otherwise) for the Chili Bowl because it's pretty clear that there doesn't need to be one.

The Belleville Midget Nationals paid $12,500 to the winner last year and $1,000 to start (regardless of what engine you run). They also average far less than 280 entries per year but the event, racetrack, and atmosphere is truly a must see experience.

Jealousy...pure and simple. Come up with the funds to start an event of your own and give up the payout and the P & L statement. The driver packets have the payout...anyone sitting at home doesn't deserve to know, nor should they even care. Pathetic...and also ridiculous (spellcheck Patty, spellcheck)

Oh well are we talking about the same event I thought we were talking about the "CHII BOWL"! I know the CHILI BOWL paid out 800.00 for 7th in the A main about 8 years ago after transferring from the D. Just wondering what it is now. Top 5 or 10 would be nice to know!
