Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone know why Andy Bondio puts the motorcycle tire on the left front of J.J yeley and Corey Kruseman's cars, is it just to save weight or is there a different story?

Well there are no rules, so it does save weight. Plus the cars on that track are often on three wheels so why not?

Corey's is the only one that had the little tire - JJ's was normal. And it is to save weight - Corey's car prolly weighs about 750lbs. -- just a wild guess but it looks REAL light.

Coreys car is completely rethought out from the normal midget design. They took a clean sheet of paper and started over when they built this one. Even the fuel cell is different.
Oddly enough, the bike wheel took a lot of abuse, and with the little tire on it, I doubt it would make much difference if it alone had a flat.

If I recall correctly (and that's doubtful) I seem to recall someone saying the engine is one-of-a-kind -- as in the only one like it anywhere. Seems like I heard that last year... after remarking to someone about how innovative/unique that car is.

This is the first year that Kruseman has ran a car like Yeley ( and Hatton one year) he has always ran a more traditional car. And I think that the motors are built by a guy who builds oil pumps.

Walking out along side Yeley Thurs. night listening to him talk to another guy he said the bike tire and wheel raised the spring rate of the left front so I guess he wanted to try to keep that wheel down on the ground more instead of up in the air three wheel style.
I was surprised to see Bondio build a copy of that car for Kruser to run. Cory hinted to me that they may bring that car to the midwest this summer to run some races (Belle-Clair among others) so stay tuned to that maybe.

The under size LF looks almost conventional compared to the suspension. It is probably a diversion more than anything.
