That's 3 shows the same weekend, if I'm reading the schedules right.
I'll admit to having been up here in the PacNW for several years now, but that would seem to make for some pretty thin car counts.
Also note the Feb. 24th show for 360's, with WoO at Tulare right up the road....

Not many 360 drivers if any race with the WoO shows in Tulare, but I would imagine most of the sprint car fans will be in Tulare that weekend.

I'm betting Kings will have a good turn out. With the Late Models, IMCA's and Modifieds, who have their own good size fan base, and the fact the Kings Speedway SCRA 360 non winger fan base would much rather watch side by side racing than going to Tulare and watching the 410 wingers fly around in a follow the leader line. Yes I know the WoO has the heavy hitters back and there's a large following especially with the locals that race with the WoO, but I'll be at Kings to watch the non wing action. This will be the opener for Kings and their expanded SCRA home track schedule and there will be plenty of fans there. My two cents.

Mach2: I agree with most of your reply, but I disagree that the "410 wingers will fly around in a follow the leader line." Have you been to Tulare for a winged race before? Tulare is one of the best, if not the best tracks in CA for great racing including lots of passing and 3 grooves. With the combination of the best drivers in the country and the best drivers in CA it should be an awesome race with a high car count and lots of fans. I agree that Hanford is a great track also, I just prefer wings to non wings.

sprintcarkelly, I haven't been to Tulare to watch the 410 wingers for a couple years. Last time I went there for a WoO show, it was what I described. I should, and probably will, go to Tulare for a WoO show this year. I spent alot of time in Los Angeles and was at Ascot most Sat nights from the late 70's till it closed and prefer non wing action. Tulare is as much a favorite track as Kings, especially since Kings was dark for a year and a half, so I went to Tulare and do like that racey 1/3 mile track. Kings in back this year and Tulare doesn't sound like there's going to be many non wing shows for this year.

You gotta get back to Tulare and check out a WOO or GSC race Mach2. I bet you won't be dissapointed. I've only seen 1 follow the leader WOO race in Tulare and that was the tire blowing rubber down affair in October of 2004(thanks Carwash, lol). The other times WOO has raced at the Thunderbowl have been outstanding and there has been a ton of side by side action with passing aplenty.

I will do that this year Gary. I think the race you talk about is the last wing show I saw at Tulare. I worked the pits last year at Tulare with a 360 SCRA car and didn't get to see much of the GSC cars. We were pitted next to the J Allard and DMJr. M. Williams cars and witnessed some top notch folks, crew members, drivers, owner and equipment. Now that's the way to do it! Just got to see the Main and now that I think about it, it was a good winger race. J Allard won, what a class act for a young Man. Very talented and a gracious driver after the race to sigh any and all autograph requests.

Cool, ya I believe that was the night that Jonathan and Danny "Hollywood" Faria went at it the last 10 laps. As you said Jon is a good guy. Definitely a great ambassador for California sprint car racing.
It woulda been great if the SCRA/GSC events at Tulare woulda worked out last year. Those type of events coulda really been something, but they're also tough to manage. In the end I think it worked out well for both parties as SCRA found a home at Kings and Tulare has got dirt modifieds for a support class which should be fun to watch at the "bowl".

Yes, again I agree. My Dad had a saying, "It all comes out in the wash...............it takes a little more time in the spin cycle sometimes, but it all comes out in the wash."
Both Tracks will have great shows for 2007.
I wouldn't be suprised if Jonathan doesn't get picked up soon, this year maybe, and heads back East and into someone's ABC progran; ARCA, Busch (for 2007 only, thanks to NASCAR getting greedy) and Cup.

Looks like a good schedule....Bummer about the conflict with the
Fall Nats, BUT....The field for the Cotton Classic last year (Which
didn't conflict with the Fall Nats) wasn't much bigger than the field
for the Chowchilla race (Which did conflict). Just a thought,
but, maybe there's not as much overlap between the 410's in the central valley and the 360's
in NorCal as we'd all like to think? I think the Petaluma 360 race that same
weekend actually had a larger field than the King's race.
Can't wait for the season to start!

According to Richard Harvey, Feb 24th is a playday, and the SCRA opener is actually March 10th, even though the date is not on this schedule.
