I know helmets such as Racequip, Pyrotect and RCI are made in China by Rodia. Pyrotect pays less then $60 for the SA helmet that they sell for $349. I do not think I would use one. http://www.chinahelmet.com.cn/about_e.asp

OK, so Bell Helmets are supplied by this Chinese Manufacturer, too. So if you're basing your buying decision on the country of origin, then that's fine, it's your choice. But just don't assume that a once upon a time USA product continues to be made in this country. Do a little research before you spend some bucks.
The fact that Rodia helmets have a Snell 2005 certification(shown on their website) seems to defuse any safety argument - it's more an issue of politics and economics when choosing to buy a helmet.....
And whatever Pyrotect pays for product is their deal - after all, they're in business to make a profit. And I'll bet that the business they're in requires a bunch of money for insurance and lawyers, too....

Only some of Bell motorcycle helmete are Made by Rodia. All Bell SA helmets are in the USA. Also it's a fit and quality issue. Such as tear off post breaking , inserts that hold the shields striping out, and the hardware that hold the chin straps being loose and this is from the factory.

Rodia supplys the helmet insurance.

makes you wonder what is next? - dirt oval racetracks in China?
in the middle of rice fields - and chinamen strong on plow instead of heavy equipment. no rules or regulations - those things barely exist over there - hence the presence of so many US corporations.............1 could go pretty far with the cultural connotations..........
