Good racing in the heats. Track went away after the heats.
Second year driver Mike Colgrove came from the "C" thru the "B and moved up in the "A" for my driver of the night.
Coons Jr. came from 18th to 2nd using the high line, while everyone else elbowed their way around the bottom.
47 cars, 45 took a green flag.
Cold!!! Poor crowd.
Top 5 Hockett, Coons Jr., Shuman, Sherman, Davis Jr.

I thought the racing, unlike the announcing, was quite good, particularly the A main. Coons Jr. started in the 9th row out of the B main, plenty of passing and position battles with only 2 yellows for a tire and a car into the wall.
Sure got cold, and the track tried to do too much. The two car, two lap duels for the pole would not have been missed and would have saved some time.
The modifieds had 40 and got their racing done with very minimal delays on their part....R. C. Whitwell, about the last car to arrive, was first across the line for the win.
