I felt the beginning of the new year might be a good time for those hardened racing veterans amongst us to offer some of their wisdom in an effort to make the racing experience more rewarding for the crop of 2008 rookies.

Tip 1.: At the beginning of each race simply add the total number of left turns to be made. Like if it's a ten lap heat it's forty left turns. Get it? Left turn totaling (LTT) leaves less to worry about while trying to shift, steer, brake, and feel around for the next tear-off. The plan works fine, just don’t make the mistake of undercounting by adding caution laps to your race total, leaving some left turns left to turn at the time you quit turning left.

Results of Left Turn Total Undercounting (LTTU) can be witnessed in the video frame below. The white car is about to pay the piper for miscounting his left turns, while those on the right side of the frame have successfully counted their required left turns and are proceeding on to a more satisfying race conclusion.
