Hi Fence Hanger and everyone,
I wonder about that too.
But, first of all, I cannot find the right words to show my true appreciation for all of your great support. You helped me to finish 3rd in Racin’ for a Livin’ voting!
I want to thank Racin’ for a Livin’ because many good things have happened to me this past summer, personally and professionally. I met many new friends. I also reunited with some of my long lost friends again! I got a new sponsor who helped me to purchase all my safety apparel and equipment. Another guy gave me two opportunities in his back up sprint car. I have had many positive experiences working with the media. I was invited to give a personal appearance at the shows in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Kansas City, Chicago, and New York.
I have learned so much from Promoting Racin’ for a Livin’ for 4 full months. I want to show my great appreciation for the more than 5,400 email messages with positive comments, encouragement, and compliments I have received from Deaf and hearing fans across the country and around the world.
Here are some interesting facts I thought you would like to know. Since I launched my www.gundersonracing.com website on March 28, 2006, the website has had more than 57,000 hits from the United States, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany, and 53 other countries. The Gunderson Racing E-News has 941 subscribers.
People have asked me many questions since I was selected to be on the show. I have pondered and would like to make a few points:
1. I want to show that deaf people CAN do anything except hear!
2. I want to encourage deaf children everywhere to pursue their dreams!
3. I want the hearing world to feel comfortable with the world of deaf people!
4. And I wish to pursue my long-time interest in car racing.
Being on the TV show will afford me the opportunity to show the world how deaf people can lead a normal life with the latest assistive technology. I truly want to help educate the public how we can do anything but hear and the TV show is the best opportunity for me and the deaf and hard of hearing community.
Other drivers and I hope that www.racinforalivin.com will get everything finalized sooner. We are more than excited to be on this new reality TV show to promote the world about the America’s # 1 sport, AUTO RACING!!
Thank you,
Greg
