This is not 100 percent racing related but I wanted to personally thank John, Robbie and Alan Padjen for their sponsorship of the first annual Walk for Hunger, a 3 mile walk to benifit the Food Bank of El Dorado County, the area largest collabrative charity. Back in August Alan Padjen was one of the first area businesses that said he was interested in sponsoring the event. Thirty Corporate sponsorships and more than 1000 participants later the event was a huge success this past Saturday in El Dorado Hills Town Center and its thanks to the members of the community, like Placerville Speedway that were instrumental in making it all possible.
It is not too often that I co-mingle both of my jobs, but this venture brought them together and on behalf of my colleagues and El Dorado County's most at risk individuals, I just wanted to pesonally say "Thank You" for the support and making a difference !

The Padjen's are a class act......on and off the track. So thank you Robbie, John and Alan for everything you do racing wise and everything you did for us this first year of racing the Golden State Challenge Series. We had a great time!! We'll be back.

The Padjens are one of the main reasons we have quality sprint car racing here in California! I enjoy going to Golden State Challenge and Civil War races at both Placerville and Silver Dollar speedway. I am glad they are gettting the national recognition that they deserve. I am looking forward to going to the GSC banquet in January and of course as many races as I can next season. I am hoping for a 2 day race in Fernley next year. I really enjoyed the race a few years ago and it was nice to have no curfew, no mufflers, fire pits, and Reno nearby!
I also want to give recognition to the promoters and owners of the Thunderbowl Raceway as they alway put on a good show and are dedicated to sprint car racing and their fans.
I only wish other tracks/promoters would support sprint car racing and not give the drivers, crew, and fans a hard time.

SCREW FERNLEY! I want a two night show at Lovelock :-)( http://www.heavenondirt.com/lovett/lovelock  Just wanted to make you laugh :-). I agree with everything everyone else said - we are indeed lucky to have such great folks involved in the sport we love.

The Padgens won't be around forever, (not saying your old John or Robbie), so hopefully others a learning the lessons their teaching and will apply them the same way. They deserve every bit of recognition they receive and then some.
Between them and Steve Faria at Tulare, they are the reason I have stayed involved and I believe the reason many others have as well. The loss of either or both of these promoters could very well signal an end to sprint car racing, as we know it, in CA.

I will take Quincy over Fernley anytime.. I have to admit if you like SAND in your beer or want to possibly witness a sand storm then Fernley gets the nod.. I agree with everyone about what is said about the Padjens, without them sprint car racing in Nor Cal would not be the same..

I forgot to mention the promoters of Ocean Speedway are also trying to do better things for sprint car racing by making more GSC races and the new 360 series. They even have a World of Outlaws event next year.
