I read Bobby's Positivity on http://www.hammerdownusa.com/ and just wamted to say what a great job he did this year with the WOO TV shows. I think he is the best sprint car annoucer in the country and I am very happy to see that he will be annoucing the Trophy Cup. He can't make the racing better or worse but he can make the fan's experience better. Great job Bobby!! Thanks

Probably a little late, Cotton is in 2 days, but Bobby G is always the best choice.

Bobby was great with the WoO broadcasts on Speed and ESPN.
I would put Johnny Gibson at the same level. He knows what he wants to say and says with no hesitation or superfluous words (except for some of his favorite sayings, perhaps ) .

Bobby is without a doubt the best in northern Cali. Plus he even acknowledged having missed announcing my mothers B-day over Labor day weekend in his Possitivity column. Class act!!!

The great ones will always be great.
David Vodden - Kenny T (never could spell his last name) - Tom McGrath (El Cajon), Bill Spencer.
Bobby, Troy, George and Bill Sullivan are the best we have going in this neck of the woods and we are lucky to have them.
You all know some of what makes a good "announcer"... voice quality, energy, knowledge, personality, love for the sport, etc. But I think what sets these great ones apart from the crowd is their involvment in other aspects of the sport. Dave Vodden for example was a promoter, driver, announcer and manager. Troy and Bill get totally involved in alot of the aspects of JPM from web site, to fund raising, coordinating driver autograph sessions, gathering race sponsorship, I could go on. Bobby has his hands on so many pieces of the pie called Sprint Car Racing that you wonder if he has any room in his life for.. oh say.... sleep maybe??? Bobby, here's hoping you make enough bank to hire a nutritionist to help you eat better! LOL
You know what else I've noticed... the great ones are friends of and have respect from the drivers and crews. It's like they are all together as a team and you can notice it in the announcing.
My point is that the track announcer that is involved in racing only on Saturday nights can not and will not ever hold a candle to these guys.

Have to disagree with you on Dave "lets grade the track at 1:00a.m. during the G.P. classic" Vodden. He was a horrible announcer, and twice as bad as a driver.

Bobby did a great job on TV this year.
I noticed he's trying a bit of the 'Bruce Ellis style' of announcing when not doing TV. Not good. Please stop.
Btw, Bruce Flanders is one of the all time greats.

We are Bobby Gerould fans and feel he is the best in the business right now.
We second the motion on Bruce Flanders, the best ever in our book. But Bruce had professional training in the broadcasting business, most do not have this benefit. And Bruce was smart.
We also like "Windy McDonald", you can always hear Windy! In this day when no programs are available most of the time, announcers that can inform you when things are quiet are important. Most talk, advertise, and bullshit until the cars are on the track and then cannot be heard by the fans in the stands as to who is in which car. We have traveled and been at open wheel tracks all over for many many years, smart announcers please the fans, it rewards them in the end. Good equipment is necessary for the PA announcers to do a good job, Bobby has junk equipment at Calistoga and uses what he has to the best possible advantage.
Here is hoping we have Bobby and Brad on TV again next year and for many years to come.
Best regards Jermar from Calistoga.
