FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WORLD OF OUTLAWS RETURN TO PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY IN OCTOBER!

(MARCH 7, 2007, PERRIS, CA) On Wednesday morning, Perris Auto Speedway promoter Don Kazarian confirmed the swirling rumor that the world's fastest Sprint Cars - the World of Outlaws - would be returning to The PAS for the first time in several years on Saturday, October 20th.

"A lot of fans have asked us to bring back the Outlaws. It is a done deal and we anxiously look forward to their return," Kazarian said from behind his desk.
"Steve Kinser, Donny Schatz, Danny Lasoski, Joey Saldana and all of the top stars will be here. It is going to be a great show."

"Some fans may have forgotten how fast these guys are," Kazarian said with a smile. "Danny Lasoski set the track record in 2002 when he turned an incredible 13.875! That is over two-seconds faster than the track record for any other series at The PAS."

Tickets for the long awaited return of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series to the Southern California clay oval will go on sale on April 1st.

The USAC/CRA Sprint Car race originally scheduled for October 20th has been moved to Sunday night, October 7th during the Southern California Fair. Sprint Cars returned to the Southern California fair for the first time in nearly a decade in 2006 and drew a near capacity crowd. Fair and PAS officials expect another massive crowd for this year's fair date.

Anyone wishing more information can contact Perris Auto Speedway at (951) 940-0134.

Perris Auto Speedway is located on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds (home of the Southern California Fair), approximately one hour east of Los Angeles and one hour North of San Diego. To get to the track, take the 215 freeway, exit at the Ramona Expressway and go two miles east to the fairgrounds.

This would be a great tome to have both USAC?CRA and WoO, that way everyone in the stands can see shich cars put on the better show.

WoO sucks.  But at least I get in for free.

I bet there will be more fans in attendance that night to see WoO than at any of the last three nights that have been run at the PAS and any other night this season with the possible exception of the July4 race and the third night of the oval nationals.

They will also pay more to get in.

come on rob, you need to get your daughter and family to a non winged race. if they go to chico, they might have forgotten what a slide job is, or passing in the heats for that matter. Oh how I miss my non winged racing!!!! At least JPM puts on pretty darn good shows with the wings.

It is called MARKETING! There are probably more people in Riverside County than all of Iowa and look at what happens at the Nationals! It is all marketing guys plain and simple!

At first I thought NO BIG DEAL if Perris wants to add a WOO race to their schedule, not normally my cup of tea especially at Perris.

I'm not like some posters, there are some good WOO races, just not normally at tracks like Perris. And contrary to some CRA fans, I have seen some bad CRA races IE in fact my last CRA race at Las Vegas on Friday was PRETTY BAD, very little passing in the main unless a car got out the groove, and I have seen good WOO races at Tulare, but enough on that.

But than I thought about it. They are actually taking the date away from a CRA race on OCT 20th, which happens to be my Birthday and moving the race to some Sunday night Oct 7th? to a Fair Night, that actually KINDA SUCKS.

Nothing personal against WOO, but why take away a CRA Saturday night race (on my Birthday). Why not just have a WOO race on any Sunday night, or cancel a Stock Car race. I know scheduling.

In the realm on things in life its no big deal. I am sure I can find something to do on Oct 20. Hopefully Ventura or Irwindale is having a race that night. That sure would of been a good date for the Wags dash at Ventura with cars from Mid West, or I guess I can save a little $ for the Vegas race Oct 27.

No big deal, there are plenty of CRA races to go to this year and fortuanely there is only one WOO race this year at Perris, the bad part it is on my Birthday :(

PS After checking the schedules.

(Sept 29 Perris)

The Wags Dash is Saturday Oct 6

Perris reschedule race is Sunday Oct 7 and I believe the last race before the Oval Nationals.

Oct 13 VRA Grand Slam Series at Santa Maria

(Oct 20 VRA Ventura, WOO Perris, Toyota Showdown at Irwindale)

And CRA Las Vegas is Oct 27.

Oval National Nov 1,2,3

I would tend to believe Ventura, Jim Naylor, Ken Wagner, some of the racersand fans could not be thrilled with having the Wags Dash and Perris on the same weekend (with having to race with probable early start of the fair race on a Sunday Night). Jim only get's 3 CRA dates, and I am guessing maybe a few cars and fans will decide to just go to Perris as this is the last race before the Oval Nationals at Perris.

But than again some fans (& drivers) will be excited to get to go to 2 different race tracks in one weekend. Hopefully some of the Midwest drivers will come out early!

(At first I thought there was not much racing in October, actually there is plenty of racing at several tracks especially if you broaden your horizons besides CRA. The Grand Slam at Santa Maria is a great show, VRA is good at Ventura, the show down at Irwindale is not bad, and some people even enjoy WOO at Perris) plus there is 3 CRA races in October
