Why is it that the disgusting music always comes in just fine and the racing either buffers or quits completely?

Many thanks 1800. I can't even get dirtvision's first page to load.
The hopeless desire to outrun Bud Grimm's Fords is
why central PA became the toughest place to race on
the planet. Even the KING couldn't run with Casey
Luna's Fords on a tacky track. It's a crying shame
that current car owners failed to notice.

it is NOT free Pat, it is sponsored just like any other public type radio.
Butlerbuilt has sure spent a ton on money the past few years, and I thank them very much.
It is a shame that in 4 years there have only been a small handful of trouble free broadcasts.
Maybe the technology is not here yet to do these valuable programs or maybe someone does not understand all they know about the technology.

Correct you are src. Steaming audio is not rocket surgery or "high tech". If you want to play, you have to pay. You can not cut corners if you want a reliable, high quality broadcast.

It's a shame the video is not more reliable. There is a definite demand for this, but dirtvision's success is being thwarted by the constant problems. I believe that there are ways to make this better, but I also believe it is probably a very expensive fix, and hard to justify financially. Someday....

Here's my theory why the music always plays and the races don't.
They are using wireless equipment and when all the cars get out on the track the ignition from all the cars creates a interference with the wireless equipment that causes it to fail.
Just my thought.

Assuming they are using still using the media trailer they are using line-of-sight microwave, I believe, to transmit to the trailer that's using a satelite uplink to the internet.
All kinds of stuff can cause interference with that..... but .......
Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance. It wouldn't take a genius to guess that the races during the month of February would have a great deal of demand, unification, only races going on, etc.....
Seems like they would have prioritized upgrading a revenue generating website before launching a sparsely populated WoO site.
..... and to think they wanted to broadcast the ChiliBowl.

It is mt understanding that the media trailer was quickly discarded as the medium to get the broadcast to the server. It has been by land line for quite sometime now.
As far as race car interferance goes, I find that hard to believe. Hospitals have a plethora of RF floating around but have no problem with 2.4GHz networks.

I had no problems listening to the outlaws when SCN (I think that's what they were called) used to do it back in 2002/2003 (after I got my mac related software problems sorted out), I watched live streaming video of the Knoxville Nationals in 2000 or 2001 on one of the qualifying nights. We get the Chilli Bowl loud and clear every year, the time for excuses is over.
Get it right and I'll be the first to sign up for a year.

Major League Baseball and their live streaming of games over the internet is flawless as is the Minor League webcasts.
