I just got home from work and turned on Fox News and they announced that Paul Newman passed away yesterday from cancer at 83 years of age.

He's gone to a better place. Every woman wanted him to be his man, (and only Joanne had him ;) ) and I think every man wouldn't mind living the life he had. He lived a full, meaningful live while he was here, and he lived on the edge. You could write a book on all the good deeds he did, and another on his acting, and another on his racing.

Sad day, but I'm glad his illnes is over as I lost my father to cancer and I can only guess the tough fight Paul and his family gave the this year.

I had the honor of meeting Paul Newman on several occasions, each one is a fond memory. One of my favorites was in the Long Beach GP hot pits when I told him that the sprint cars were running at the PAS that night and to see his face light up and he said REALLY! Some time before that day he hot lapped in Ron Shuman's car at the PAS.He did't come out that night but just to see his reaction was priceless.

May the great Paul Newman Rest In Peace. Great actor, racer, car owner and humanitarian.
