Jackson, MN-As teams head to the Jackson Speedway for this weekend’s Wayne Gohr Memorial, teams have begun preparations for next weekend’s 36th Annual Jackson Nationals which pays $5,000 to win. With the season winding down, a number of drivers are expected to turn out at Jackson this weekend. “It is a special night for us to honor Wayne and we know with the big boys of the Lucas Oil ASCS coming to town, that our drivers are using this weekend to tune up for the Nationals” stated Brian Postma.
AtoZ Promotions is excited to once again be the promoter for the event. “We had a great turnout of 40 sprint cars last year for the Nationals, and it should be 40+ this year” stated head of AtoZ Promotions Adam Adamson. “I think it would be great to see a local win the event, but when you have names like Brown, Herrera, Swindell and more coming, the local guys will have to be on their game”.
There are a lot of exciting events coming with the Jackson Nationals. Friday night will see the return of the 2nd Annual Jackson County Pork Producers feed after the races, coupled by the return of the popular Nectarines. Saturday will see the first annual Minnesota Mafia Truck Show, racing next door at the Jackson Kart Club, and then the Valentine Memorial and finally 30 lap Jackson Nationals Championship.
