Herman Troutman of Midwest City, OK, passed away this past weekend . He was 87 yrs old.

Herman was everywhere at the race track, from the best jobs of driving the Mar Car Trophy Queens around in the Company Convertible, to helping out in the middle of the worst crashes, and there were many, or to pick up a part left behind or to help with lineups . Anything to help the operation run smoothly, Herman would often jump off the Fairgrounds Speedway stage and get in there and do his part.

Herman would also have the duties of flagman at the dragstrip where he would crouch down and jump up to start the race -- before any light trees were installed.

He was a true and good friend of the Mar Car organization and will be missed by many.

Service is at Meadowood Baptist Church, on RENO  between SOONER and AIR DEPOT , in MIDWEST CITY, OK- at 10 am.

Photo is from the Mar Car collection.
