I think that a majority of the guys from OKC would go down there and race almost every week. Would the fans and other racers like to see it?

Would I like to see it. Yes! Do I think that the OKC cars would come down. NO. How many 2- barrel cars make the pull?

Lanny won't act any better down there than he does here.

cheese a lot of those same guys are probably the same 2-barrel drivers that said they would race at Meeker too. Doubt any of the Dallas guys would come up........but a few Amarillo guys probably would aside from Adkins.

Lanny's tirades are a lot worse at Lawton than they are at OKC. James L. and his transistor radio would surely verify that. Matter of fact James should record that wahoo while he is goin off on that radio. We could put together a whole cd of his tirades and present it as a gift to Lanny.

Considering the floundering champ sprint class down there I don't think the Super Sprints would have a chance. Why don't those same drivers that want to race OKC and Lawton go out and race ASCS Sooner Region? I love the Sooner shows but they are utterly dominated by Tulsa and Texas drivers. For real tho........thats about the best idea...screw startin any new classes at Lawton........more OKC sprinters should prove their worth against the ASCS Sooner Region.

The reason we don't race Sooner is the fact that you need a whole different motor in order to compete. Even though our motors are down 100 horses you can race ASCS with them, but if you get top 5 you run the risk of being called illegal because you have the wrong heads on. BELIEVE ME I would love nothing more than to run ASCS Sooner or National, but it's just not going to happen until I grad. college, and I know a lot of guys that are in the same boat with lack of funding. It's hard to find sponsorship these days, there are way to many other forms of entertainment.

The reason we want to run Lawton is because it is close. If he ran he would have an automatic 5 cars most weeks from us. I'm sure Koby, Rick, and Sheldon would go down there. Sellers, Owens, Whit, Michelle, Dave Lambert, Strike. All of them race as much as possible and I'm sure they would show up. From what I just named that was 14, and I put no effort into thinking about people. In the Winter Nats. in Lawton we had a full B, so that proves that cars will make the trip.

I think it would be a great idea. I don't think a weekly show would sustain a car count but maybe special shows or 1 time a month.

I don't think many of them would make the pull. Now, let's talk about all five classes running each week at OKC.

Mossman your back, did everything slow up on the football news front? And I agree with Josh it would be good to at least run once a month or every other month or something.

5Can Mossman. OKC is knockin on the door of only having 3 unless Lanny pulls his head out his ass. Brandon you make a great point there. But when K. Walker won ASCS up at Tulsa he wasn't DQ'd for illegal heads.......it was a wicker bill I believe. I also agree they couldn't run weekly SS at Lawton. But bi-weekly or somthin might be worth a shot. WHy would Whit or any of them run Lawton? They hardly even take their champ sprints down there. One reason I guess could be the quality of the drivers there. Some are clean and good, but some also are dirty as hell. Again tho....if those drivers wouldn't run champs there at Lawton.....why would they do it with Supers?

I'm not for sure that any of those guys would go, they just seem like they race whenever they can. Whit would be bringing 2 cars so that equals more money and experience for the haul. Just a thought.

I got a better Idea. Why dont you leave those no starting pieces of shit in okc and bring LATE MODELS back.

Most of you people talk a lot of shit about Lanny and forget that you would be racing at meeker on that motorcross track if it wasnt for him. Yes he gets wound up but hes got a lot going too. Ive been to a lot of tracks and been screwed at some of them, but he has never failed to pay a purse or do his best to provide a place to race. I get to bitchin at times about what happens until I go to some of the other tracks and then I realise what we have. Go to whowon .com and read about the track in south texas that screwed everyone out of money just recently. I too think that the factory class is closer to a street stock class until I went to enid last year and saw the late models they were calling street stocks. They would make the pro stocks look like minis. It is just in a racers blood to push the envolope. Ive been at the track since the seventies and have watched the progression time and again. They start it off as a "stock" class and yearly add things you can do until there is no simularity to what was started.Ok ok ok I will shut up, for now :)

Lay off the Kool-Aid buddy, there's no reason to disrespect the fastest cars on dirt. Also there are kids on this board...cuss words are a no-no. But it's ok, I mean I guess Late Models are fun...like when they come once a year and the only reason some people actually go are because they forgot how boring they were last time.

1500 lbs with 600 hp vs. 1,000,000 lbs with 800 hp...I pick the faster of the two.

PS: Your probably one of those mods that sits there after he spins out to bring out the yellow THEN starts it back up. That takes just as much time to restart the race as sprints do.

When the ASCS come to Lawton, the track turns into a one laner and there is only two cars putting on a race. Dont get me wrong, i love sprints and i love a good slick track, and i know it is a one laner most of the time anyway but you think the mods have a lot of cautions,,, come watch a ASCS show at Lawton if you can see threw the dust. Caution after caution after caution and so on and so on. Sure makes for a long night. Just stick with the champ sprints. We need some more champ sprints to come to Lawton to make a full feature line up.

I agree with Bob, bring the Late models back.

Boring? what about every car looking the same? Thats boring. and what are you driving that weighs one million pounds?Besides if you was much of a driver you wouldnt be in one of those gocarts that depend on wings because you cant drive it in the corners.
