Check out this from the Mercury News no dumb dome ever! So how about we petition to get our race track back!

Seems to me that after all the legal crap that has gone on out there that the people have a legal right to have their grandfathered in use permit back .

I read that yesterday sling. I have to admit it gave me a chuckle......don't know if it was a HaHa chuckle or gas. It would appear that the good folks from the House of Blues are opportunists looking to hang on to others' success.

I agree YZ. The nottom line is that we dont need ANOTHER concert
hall in the south bay. Not at the fairgrounds, not in Santa Clara,
there simply is no need. We have plenty of venues for shows if HOB
wants to bring in acts. There's lots of empty retail & commercial space
as well that they could convert if they wanted to move in.
BTW, there was a story in the Fresno Bee over the holiday regarding Madera. Looks like its out to bid until Dec 19 for a five year contract with a 5 year extension, so the place has another 10 years left if things go right.

Yea Stu, the Madera (not so) Fair Board is back pedaling big time after they got caught breaking the rules. Everything is by the book now as far as putting it out for bid. But to be completely fair, they should reinstate Liz's contract that they terminated a couple of months ago...

Seems to me the idots who are in charge of the south bay should be able to see how much money having a weekly race track would bring into the community, based solely on the San Jose Grand Prix. While a dirt track wont bring that big of a crowd in one weekend, I imagine the season long attendance to the SJ speedway was comparable.
