I'm looking to obtain a copy of the SLICK 50 Sprint Car World Series race that Fred Rahmer won in the Budweiser #21 car. I BELEIVE the race was in 1993 at either Manzanita or Canyon Raceway and I BELEIVE it was "Round 3". At that time, it was aired live on the TNN / The Nashville Network series called "TNN Winter Heat". I've spent hours searching online and at various websites for motorsport video producers in the Arizona area but I'm having no luck. I'm looking for DVD or VHS format. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Anyone know if it IS available from ANY video producer? Any suggestions, links, etc...?

Hey thanks! Actually, I've received SEVERAL replies at VARIOUS message boards, and honestly, YOURS looks to be one of the better chances I've found thusfar! So, I'll wait several days and see what else comes up. A video outfit from Arizona, as well as several other individuals are looking onto it. IF I DO decide to exchange with you, I'll DEFINITELY get ahold of you again soon. We gotta watch though, beacuse we wouldn't want any "higher-ups" getting petty and trying to relinquish any monetary cuts for copyright infringement. Actually, YOUR reply sounds like one of my best chance yet! And yes, as time goes on, I could kick myself in the pushbar for not using the VCR many MORE times years ago!

Thanks again!

Billy:

I'm pretty sure I have a copy of this race on VHS. I can burn it to a DVD for you. I'll check tonight when I get home to make sure. Let me know if your other sources don't come through.

Great Bob, Thanks! Let me know if you do come accross it. I'm going to give it a few days or a week yet since one of the video producers is on the search for it. Greatly appreciated! Thanks again!

Billy:

I found the tape. I'll check to see if it's in good condition. Sure glad I stepped up and spent a buck each for these tapes thirteen years ago! The video producer's tape might be of better quality, but if you need a copy from me I'll be more than happy to burn one for you. I'll keep an eye on this message board for your response.

Bob,

Again I must thank you for the time you took to search for the tape, as I GREATLY appreciate it! I really don't know if the video guy which I was corresponding with out west is going to be able to come through. From what he said, I don't know for sure if HE actually has it, but he MAY have some "contacts". A buddy of mine who knows Lee Stauffer (crew chief of the recently retired Apple Motorsports team), said that the next time he talks to Lee, he'll see if Lee may be able to get ahold of a copy. It was funny, because I never even THOUGHT about contacting "Lethal Lee", LOL. Matter of fact, I DO know someone who has a copy, but that copy is barely viewable... It was from a copy, of a copy, of a copy, of a copy, etc..., and ALL were recorded in the VHS format "EP" mode. I'm not searching for perfection, just something that is half-way viewable.

Either way Bob, your copy sounds as if it may be my best bet thusfar. Please don't mind if I wait several more days or a week to let you know. If you do view some of it, please feel free to give me a yell and let me know how it looks. I thought about getting ahold of Fred himself about a copy, but I figure he's too busy right now getting things together with the new team and all... Heck, HE may not even have a copy! If and when I do acquire a copy, I'm gonna find out if he has one... if he doesn't, well, he will then! The way I see it, when someone gets to know him, he really IS a "good guy"... In my opinion, he's done a lot for the sport (for the Posse anyway), and the sport has done much for him. If I had a time machine, I'd LOVE to go back to the Tommy Hinnershitz days, but I was still fortunate enough to witness the late '70s, the '80s, the '90s, and the current... and I like to archive it.

Thanks Bob!

You'll likely hear from me soon!

Bob,

UPDATE... The fella out in Arizona that was lookin' for me, just emailed to inform that what he had obtainable was '92 at Manzanita with Sammy Swindell as the winner. After which, I resumed reviewing the other replies that I had received... Some being good possibilities, yet YOURS seemed to be my best option. This particular race from Canyon in 1993 with Fred Rahmer's victory means MUCH to me, but even more to me as being able to let my parents view it once again (as they, neither I had taped it). We have been Rahmer fans... well... ever since he appeared on the Centarl PA sprint car circuit. My first memories of Fred was when he came along in the 50n. We've been fans ever since. I just wish like heck that ONE of us was have recorded that race WHILE we were watching in that Sunday on TNN! My father and I still attend the races weekly at the Grove and Lincoln, and most "special" PA events. My mother doesn't attend much anymore due to vision health inconveniences... and SHE was the biggest darned Fred Rahmer fan that one could ever encounter. However, or WHOever I obtain a copy of this race from will bring back that Sunday in December of 1993 for us... and then some.

Bob, If you can confirm that the race you have IS that race in which Fred won, please email me at the following address... We can take it form there!

Thanks again Bob!

Sincerely,

"Billy" (actually first name is Chad)
