SHORT TAKES TWIN CITIES SPRINT FEATURE
National-Sprints
05/22/07
north_vernon.jpgNorth Vernon, Ind……..Brady Short of Bedford, Ind. won Tuesday night’s Lucas Oil USAC National Sprint race at TwinCitiesRacewayPark, leading the final 16 laps in his Lucas Oil/Indiana Stoneworks Maxim/Gaerte. Short passed Jesse Hockett on lap 14 and led the rest of the way to beat Kevin Swindell, Dave Darland, Brad Sweet and Hockett in a race slowed by several yellow cautions. A final caution forced a yellow-checkered finish, with the feature ending at 29 laps when four cars tangled in turn two. Levi Jones ceated spectacular action during the second heat when he flipped over the concrete wall in turn one and through the fencing. He was able to repair the car and restart the heat race and actually tarsferred to the feature where he finished eighth! NASCAR regular J.J. Yeley made a rare USAC Sprint car appearance and finished sixth. Brady Bacon set a new track qualifying record of 13.719 seconds.
