Clinton's
2nd Annual Gobbler 200 is this weekend. Anybody going?
I just checked the website and they have 66 cars already pre-registered for
the race!
For those who are unfamilar with the race. It’s a 200 lap enduro race. There are no yellows. The
only exception is if a car rolls over, is on fire, or if the track is so blocked
up by stalled cars that the drivers can not race around them. They start all of
the cars at once... and with 66 cars that will be quite a sight! There are no
race cars allowed so all of the cars that compete are pretty much stock with
the exception of a few safety modifications. Last year there were cars ranging
from old Mitsubishi Eclipses to Lincolns
(4-cylinders, 6-cylinders, 8-cylinders) competing in the race.
This event was quite a sight to see last year and was one of the funnest races
we went to. It’s a nice change of pace. I highly recommend it!

I talked to Joe Madore a couple of weeks ago and he gave me an idea but I was rather chicken to do it. He told me that I ought to find a salvage yard to enter me a drivable car in exchange for an ad on my website for one full year in exchange for that car and me drive it. But I didn't think anybody would do it and I chickened out.

I would like to get behind the wheel of a racecar at least once in my lifetime. Seriously, I pretend alot in traffic on the interstate and even reach up to my face to pull off a tearoff when I get through traffic. No lie either.
