I have to vent somewhere, so my fellow hosers are going to get it. I'm disgusted with our govt taking no action, and then when they do, it's absurd. Today a bi-partisn group of senators (behind closed doors, that's when you know it's really bad), got together on a bill alowing for more amnesty for these criminals that have invaded our country. This crap has got to stop!

I'm not very active in politics, besides talking about, bitching about, and voting. But that's going to change. I'm going to donate some time and resources to trying to get this illegal problem worked on.

I'm not a Republican or a Democrat, I vote for who I think does the best job. Right now I'm not real happy with the republicans (bush & cronies) and not too fond of the dems lack of action either. The other day I heard Tom Tancredo (rep) on the radio and thought; this guy gets it! It may be just talk, I don't know, but he's taking a no bullshit approach to these criminals.

I also heard on the radio a spokesman for a group that is helping keep pressure on our senators and reps to seal the border and round these people up. The group is called "NumbersUSA" and they will send your legislators faxes on your behalf, letting them know how you would like them to vote.

These illegal aliens are the biggest thorn in my side, too. I talked with my sister from Okla. and she said they have pretty stringent laws against the illegal aliens. One suburb of Dallas voted 3 to 1 to make it illegal to rent to them. Man - that has attracted a lot of commotion. But the people spoke. I don't see why it's so difficult for our national government to follow the obvious will of the populace - the legal populace, that is. You aren't the only one venting on this subject.

There's what, 12 Million illegal aliens in this country? And we're just going to go round them all up and ship them back to where ever they came from? Sounds good in principle, but I don't think we'd be happy if this were to actually happen!!!

How much would it cost to create the new Department of Illegal Alien Rounding Up (DIARU), hire the people to do this, build holding areas, and transport them to where ever? Watch for your taxes to go up again. Plus, how much is it going to cost to increase border security on both borders so that they don't come back? Then, what would the effect be on the economy? Most of the jobs these people do are low paying, crappy jobs that nobody wants. So, now the employers will have to pay a lot more to get the same work done, and that will be reflected in higher prices at the stores for all of us.

Just some things to think about........

Let me tell you something needs to be done. I am in the trucking industry and a couple of years ago I rarely spoke with someone that couldn't speak english in the last two years and ecspecially in the last 6 months I'm lucky if I understand half the conversations I have through out the day.

The Bush admin says it's better to fight them over there than over here right? Well the whole freakin world knows all you've got to do is get to mexico and you can sneak right into the USA overnight. Don't you think the radical Muslim's know this too? (I think some of the 6 they just caught planning on storming a base were illegal muslims).

WHEN one of those radicals sneaks across and detonates his "dirty bomb" or blows up a school or whatever, what kind of effect do you think that will have on our economy?

Now they are making inroads into the skilled trades like electrical, plumbing, millwork masonry etc. Why? The answer is really an easy one. It's graduation time and all you have to do is ask those graduating from high school what their future career plans are? Few and very few are going in to trade schools or vocational apprentiship programs. They don't want to chance being burned by sparks from welding, shocked by electricity, smell crap from plumbing, splinters from millwork, labor when it's over 75 degrees hot or under 50 degrees etc, etc. Most want to set behind a putter in a completely climate controled environment and hire done all of those labourous jobs mentioned above. So who's going to perform these jobs? In northeast Oklahoma there is one of the largest construction booms in history. Housing, commercial and industrial construction jobs aplenty. If it wasn't for the Mexican work force, our booming economy would be finished, there simply is not a local labor force to keep up with demand.

I really don't care what jobs they do, want to do, or won't do.

Enter the country legally, like millions and millions of other LEGAL immigrants have done and you're more than welcome to live and work in America.

Sneak across the border, and then hold a bunch of protests to tell me how unfair they're being treated or discrminated against and they can go home.

What's so hard about doing it the legal way?

You can talk all you want about illegal Mexican and Guatamalan or whatever labor and the effect on the American economy but if the Chinese decide to call in the money loaned to USA companies and banks, the good 'ol USA will be SOL.

Kruscheve once said that Russia would never have to fire a shot to destroy America, that we would destroy ourselves and they would just walk in. Well, the terrorists are walking in every day and China has become our landlord.

No sense blaming our "leaders" because most of these politicians are concerned with feathering their own nests. They are no better than the people whom they govern. Once again, the middle and working class of this country will suffer so a relative few can take advantage. Either enforce the damned laws or repeal them.

Budzilla, I agree with you completely. My post did not address the workers status. Sad part is, the laws are in place and have been for years concerning what a legal worker is and penalties for employees that hire illegals. They just don't enforce them. Or punishment does not exceed the profits made my the companies. I can't understand what is so hard about conducting random job audits, removing the illegals and fining and/or suspending the license of the guilty company. And make the fine large enough to get others attention.....Now, why can't this happen? With a booming economy like we have here in the Tulsa area, it could be so much better if all were paying taxes as they should be, buying auto insurance as they should be and regularly going to the Indian Casinos...But no, our government officials would rather just ignore the situation or talk about how to fix it with more laws that they won't enforce.

Dang, I voted in a few elections, have a Social Security # and even paid taxes, albeit, rarely thx to some business sense. Marry your way into the USA, I just did it for the second time, oops. I retired back to my roots though, not to worry, lol. Take It Easy....
