Two of NASCAR's best winged sprint car racers will compete in an all-star race to benefit the Kasey Kahne Foundation.
On June 27, Bill Davis Racing's Dave Blaney
and Evernham Motorsports' Kahne will compete at Williams Grove Speedway
in Pennsylvania. Blaney is the winner of more tan 180 winged sprint car
series races, including the 1995 World of Outlaw Series championship.
Kahne started his career in winged sprint cars as well and is joining
the event to benefit his foundation.
The Kasey Kahne Foundation 35/ URC Shootout
at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., will feature 40
sprint car racers in the Pennsylvania area along with with Kahne and
Blaney.
"I am honored that Dave Blaney will be joining me as we set to do
battle against Pennsylvania's best winged sprint car drivers at the
Grove, one of the premier sprint car venues in the world," Kahne said.
"This is the first time that Dave and I have headlined a wing sprint
car event, and I am hoping to begin closing the win gap that he has
over me."
Proceeds will benefit the Kasey Kahne Foundation, which supports
disadvantaged youth and chronically ill children and their families.
"Kasey continues to make the sprint car community proud by going
back to his roots promoting events, racing and owning short track
teams," Blaney said. "There has always been a lot of talent racing at
the Grove, and therefore Kasey and I will have our hands full, but you
can guarantee we will put on a great show for the fans."
