OCRS SPRINT CARS ROLL INTO TRI-STATE SPEEDWAY THIS SATURDAY Tulsa, Oklahoma (April 26, 2010) - The Oil Capital Racing Series will roll their sleek and ultra fast sprint cars into Tri-State Speedway this Saturday night, May 1st. Tulsa Oklahoma’s Mike Goodman will be looking to start the 2010 season with back to back victories after taking the season opener at Outlaw Motor Speedway on April 16th. Goodman pilots the #4AM machine sponsored by Premier Homes and on opening night, crew chief Matt Thomason had the car set up so well, all Goodman had to do was stay out of trouble. There will be several challengers however to attempt to keep Goodman from leaving town with more hardware. Some of those include: Two time defending champion Jamie Passmore of Rose Oklahoma in the G.A.P Roofing #4, Danny Smith of Sand Springs in the Same Day Auto Repair number 5$ special, Rafe Essary of Stillwell in the #26 Essary Motorsports car, Jerrod (J-Rock) Wilson in the Tim O’Toole Motorsports #15x and Collinsville’s Dean Drake Jr. in the Drake Motorsports #77. OCRS last visited Tri-State in the “Fall Nationals” in 2008. That event paid dividends for Owasso’s Matt Sherrell. After knocking on the door of victory lane the entire 2008 season, Sherrell would make the Tri-State event his second win in a row to close out the 2008 OCRS season. Sherrell also collected a supersized check for car owners Don and Pat Carnes for $2,000 for that victory. Danny Womack, who owns Outlaw Motor Speedway in Oktaha Oklahoma, is also the promoter at Tri-State Speedway and will host OCRS for the first time at the 3/8 mile track. With approximately 25 degrees of banking, the OCRS sprinters will produce speeds not typically seen at some venues. Drivers meeting for the OCRS teams begin at 5pm with hot laps at 5:45pm and racing is set to begin at 630pm. Tri-State Speedway is located just off of HWY 9 / 112 / 271 / I-540 and just a few minutes south of Fort Smith, Arkansas and about 10 miles north of Spiro, Oklahoma. If you’re using GPS, the physical address is: 2374 W Race Track Rd in Pocola, OK, 74902. For additional info on Tri-State Speedway, visit the tracks web site at: www.tri-statespeedway.com or you can call (918) 687-9200. OCRS current top ten championship points: (1) Mike Goodman: 95 (2) Matt Sherrell: 92 (3) Danny Smith: 87 (4) Dean Drake Jr.: 85 (5) Jerrod Wilson: 80 (6) Whit Gastineau: 79 (7) Jamie Passmore: 75 (8) Tim Kent: 70 (9) Travis Jenkins: 68 (10) Shayla Waddell: 67
