Here is the latest update for the upcoming VRA/Bandit Grand Slam Race Number 1 at Bakersfield on Saturday April 7. (Tuesday April 3, 2007 1:30pm)

1. There my be a rear tire issue as the vendor at Bakersfield may not have availability for us this weekend. I just spoke to Scott at Bakersfield Speedway and Hoosier Tire West and they are working on the problem. Hoosier Tire and the vendor are trying to work out the issue, but be prepared that you may have to get your right rear RC-3s or left rear RC-1's before race day, from a local vendor, as they may not be available at the track. We will only allow the RC-3 and VRA Tire on the right rear and RC-1 or D-12 on the left rear no exceptions. Jack at High Tech has a few available and can get them overnight if you let him know asap you will need them and pick them up from his shop before Saturday.

2. Pits will open at 1:00pm. All Sprint Car drivers must pill pick their qualifying position as soon as possible to help us get the line-ups ready. In any event the pill must be picked prior to drivers meeting. Time to be announced. Failure to do so will result in being placed at the rear of the qualifying order.

3. All drivers who are not registered 2007 VRA members must fill out an event entry form and W-9 tax form in order for VRA to issue their purse checks. Failure to do so will result in possible delay in, or possibly not receiving, their check.

We will keep you advised on the tire issue. If I get any new information I will immediately post it for your viewing, so check back often if you are in doubt.

We are looking forward to a great event this weekend. Past year's racing has been outstanding and this year should be no exception.

See you all Saturday afternoon,

Cliff Morgan VRA Director of Competition

Hi Cliff, Thanks for the information. Just a few ?'s

#3. Does that includes SMS Bandit membership for payout or do we have to fill out VRA membership information also other than W9 form?

Is VRA doing all the grand slam pay out checks or just Bakersfield only?

Thanks

Charles

Hi Charles,

VRA will be issuing checks at least for the Bakersfield and Ventura Races. We may do the Santa Maria checks as well. The entry form is not a VRA Membership Form. It is just to get information so we can send you your check and have information for our programs.

Fuel is supposed to be available at the track this weekend. However, if I were you, I would bring some of my own just in case there is a last minute issue. Our vendor High Tech will not be there. It is the Bakersfield vendor who will be handling fuel. When I talked to Scott, last week, he said there would be fuel.

Hope to see you Saturday, Cliff Morgan VRA
