Tim Kaeding wins the 21st annual Mini Gold Cup followed by Brent Kaeding, Jonathan Allard, Sean Becker and Greg DeCaires
He won with an 11 year old motor.

The TK Express continues to roll, catch him at a track soon, you won't be disappointed. How was the crowd and the weather? Take It Easy....

The crowd was good. It wasn't a full house but it was good. The weather was excellent.

Damn an 11 year old motor. With the competition the way it is today, you don't win that many races with equipment like that. Great job TK!

Maybe the block is 11 years old, but it has to be fresher than that. It would have atleast puked fluids due to old seals and gaskets.

Maybe the motor was 11 years old, but the driver sure isnt. Just goes to show what a talented sprint card driver he is and can win with subpar equipment. Way to go TK, im sure BK hates running second to you haha :)

Yeah, BK confirmed it was an 11 yr. old motor in the Victory Lane
interview. Apparently BK sold that Shaver to the Taco Bravo team
some time ago.
But 11 yr. old motor or whatever, there wasn't anything subpar about the performance. It was strong both nights.

Engine11 Years old? Get real!! Nothing against T.K., but the only thing about that motor being 11 years old would be the block. The new motors would not cost $45 G's plus if you can use a 11 year old motor.

Just goes to show you dont need the $45,000 brand new motors, or at leat TK does not. He can overcome any inferior equipment with his talent alone.
I also know someone who bought a Shaver from BK years ago, and it wasnt what he thought it was. The crank in it was junk. Im sure Taco Bravo has had theirs updated in the past 11 years.
Way to go TK. Make us proud on the WoO tour.

You don't need as much motor for a tiny bullring like Chico because you can throw so much gear to the car. A 10 year old motor geared for a 1/4 mile track probably pulls as hard at the rear wheels as a good motor geared for a 1/2 mile track. And if the track went away at all, it might even be an advantage to be down on power so you can get hooked up easier. Hats off to TK however... What a chauffeur!
They don't even know how to spell sprint car
much less chromoly...http://www.ycmco.com

Although I am not sure about Saturday Night the car weighed in at 1652# Friday and the power steering had failed. TK still finished third. I don't recall this car making it out of the B-Main since Trophy Cup a bunch of years ago. I think McCarl drove it then.
