Kouba Memorial Around the Corner for UMSS The 17th Annual Earl Kouba Memorial will be presented at North Central Speedway in Brainerd, Minnesota on Saturday night, July 4th. This very special night of racing honors Earl and Ethel Kouba, two people who dedicated their whole lives to open wheel racing. The Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series (UMSS) is honored and humbled to be a part of this traditional night of racing. "I would really like to thank the whole Kouba family as well as Cliff and Tim at North Central Speedway for having the UMSS as part of this special night of racing," stated Ron Bernhagen of the UMSS. Thanks to North Central Speedway, the Koubas, GRP Motorsports, Bevlor Utilities and Protofab Engineering, the purse for this show will also be special. The sprint car driver who crosses the line first will take home $1,500, second will pay $1,000, third $700, and fourth $500. The feature will pay $270 to start. For their loyalty, every sprint car that participates in the Earl Kouba Memorial and the Mighty Axe Nationals on September 5th and 6th will receive an additional $150 above and beyond their purse money.
