What's the record for number of winners in a season? Wasn't it set two years ago? There's a good chance it will be broken this year!

How about McCarl's comments? Wow. Would like to see the replay of that one. Hopefully it's on Speed tomorrow night!

Was it 1989-With 20 Different Drivers credited with WoO A Feature Events. Recent history escapes me...Suppose I could Google.

Someone send me the transcription of McCarl 's expression for Record Keeping Historical value. By the end of the year, when we argue about what he actually said, it can be refrenced to get it right.

Too many Politically Correct Mama's Boys out there, So don't anyone get all wadded up saying it was not for little kids to hear. It was after 10PM at the track when the race ended and if you had little kids out that late, well what does that say about your parenting skills. I'm quite certain the drunks boo-ing him said harshly worse things from the stands right next to those impressionable ears.

A few years back, counting preliminaries like we SHOULD (and now do, yeah!), it was up into the 20's. The answer can be easily obtained from Kevin Eckert or even his site, sooooo.

Five different winners is excellent as Bob or Ted might say. There are still a few guys who we can expect to win so I hope the streak contintues. All of this parody is killing the nay-sayers as well it should. Get off the porch and go and see the Greatest Show On Dirt folks, lol. Take It Easy.....

Thank goodness for the NST to help produce such a competitive World of Outlaws in 2007...

LOL yeah your right. Three WoO regulars from 2006 have already scored victories, one NST driver from last year has won a feature and one (Madsen) who didn't travel in 2006. I thought this NST comparison crap would fail and not be heard about again just as the series.

But if you wanna get techincal, if Kaeding didn't win then it would have been McCarl so that would make four WoO drivers from 2006 who have won features and none from the failed NST.

Relax, David.

But.....if we're getting "technical," the fight to make the show is more difficult and should be more entertaining because of more travelers. Just one great effect that the NST had!!!

Seeing as the NST only lasted for one season I don't consider the drivers that ran that series as "NST" drivers anymore than I would consider Steve Kinser a USA driver. The vast majority of people are going to associate Steve's name with the Outlaws in spite of the two seasons he spent in competing series. Even if Dirt went out of business Steve and quite a few other Sprint Car drivers would always be thought of as WoO drivers. I'm in my mid 50's and some people think that I'm an old fashioned dinosaur (with I probably am to some extent) but the benefit of being senile is that I have already forgotten the NST lineup. :)

Yeah your right there Spridge. Kinsers failure to make the feature Friday night in Tulare opened the door for one other WoO regular from 2006 to make the feature while Kaedings failure to make the feature one night at Volusia opened the door for somebody else to make the feature. At least they (WoO regulars from 2006) had to earn their way in the feature both those nights. That is a great effect.

You know, if we were all NASCAR fans having this conversation then we would all be calling each other names and calling Dave Despain on Sunday nights venting our frustrations and how DIRT is catering to certain drivers and car owners, just as they do about NASCAR.

and thank goodness for ford and dodge and chevy for helping to produce such excellent toyotas hondas and volks wagons. cause if not for such great American car makers the japs and others would not have had to produce such a good car.

and thank goodness for the nst for keeping 2006 from being as competitive as 2007 looks to be shaping up to be.

and thank goodness for you learning to type so it shows the rest of us how to keep from being such a lame ass.

no- yes and yes. Prudence would indicate we should not be so thankful for current automobile makers. We should have much to thank them for when they still build vehicles that run on a fuel that costs over 3$ a gallon (what would that make the price of methanol?).

Seems automobile makers and Oil and Gas Companies just can't get enough of each other. And Saudi Arabia just can't get enough American money to turn around and give to terrorist groups.

For those of us that didn't EVER recognize the NST, these were Outlaw racers before and they simply made a bad decision and took a year off following the Pied Piper. It hurt some, especially the greatest Outlaw of all-time and this quality season was going to happen with or without the failure formerly known as the NST. Take It Easy.....

It has happened twice now in a pretty short span, racing wise. I also think their will be others in the same boat or using up a lot of provisionals in the process. Heck, they are using them up now, can you imagine what it will be like when they get to PA, sheesh! Take It Easy.....

Some of you younger boys will be around when alot of the best drivers and car owners hang it up. It's not the end of the world but it seems so at the time. In PA we lost the 29, ,88H, 77 and 461 and others but life goes on. Not many sprint car drivers can stay on top of the game over 50. When you bounce around in a sprint car the old bones hurt longer and things move faster then they use to.

NAPCAR still is racing without Petty and Dale Sr.

The outlaws did just fine without the missing people last year.

Races will continue as long as there are fans.

On that subject, a few promoters might try a bit of promoting to get the KIDS to the races, they are the future of ALL businesses.

It cracks my crap to hear those people STILL saying the WoO are nothing without Kinser. Well, Kinser is an "also ran" early this 2007 season yet the WoO races have started out rather competitive. There is no rival NST or NSL or NAACP or NSTAQ or whatever for some of you to hang your hat on so I have finally came to the conclusion that some of you just want to bitch about a series you will never attend or you will dislike the series no matter what they do.

back to the original post. not to be a smart ass but i asked a question a couple of moths ago concerning how many drivers would win a woo race this year and would any one driver win 10 or more.a lot of people answered back and pretty much told me i was crazy to think that things would change that much. i bet they would have laughed me off the board if i would have suggested that schatz would be useing a provisional by the 4th race. lmao.
