FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

USAC DESIGNATES HOOSIER DT-3 AS SPEC RIGHT REAR DIRT TIRE

INDIANAPOLIS - USAC has designated the DT-3 Hoosier tire as the spec right rear tire for dirt surfaces for the 2007 season for the National Sprint Car Series.

The program brings the USAC National Sprint Car Series together with many of the Indiana dirt tracks, which run weekly Sprint car programs, having recently made the same announcement. The other three corners will remain unchanged, therefore allowing teams the opportunity to choose whatever compound or manufacturer they desire.

"We feel adopting this rule, and specifically this tire, which is a more durable and economical tire, we will be able to assist in controlling costs," said USAC National Series Coordinator Greg Staab.

The tire rule is planned to go into effect starting with the "Border Wars" weekend April 27-28 at Gas City (Ind.) I-69 Speedway and Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, leaving teams the chance to finish using any extra inventory at the first three dirt races of the season. In addition, races at Big Diamond Raceway and Grandview Speedway in Pennsylvania and Hagerstown Speedway in Maryland will not adhere to the rule due to previous commitments.

The USAC National Sprint Car Series kicks its season off March 31 at Eldora.
