Just back from Phoenix and an incredible show!!

61 midgets, 49 sprints and 20 champ cars. 130 cars and not a wing in sight!

Started 32 midgets and 29 sprints in their respective mains. Incredible seeing all of those midgets racing four and five wide in the early going.

Tough weekend for most with Oklahoma connections.

Brady Bacon never turned a competitive lap with engine trouble both nights. Cody Branchcomb did his best to try to reach the junkyard off turn three and did damage the fence when his sprint flipped Saturday night. Cody Brewer and his teammate Jessica Zemken did simultaneous flips after hitting the slowing car of Donnie Ray Crawford in their semi on Saturday. Donnie Ray was leading when he broke. Zemken did a number on Cody's second car. It looked like it was junked pretty badly. Matt Sherrell from Tulsa did win his semi and Colorado's Gary Taylor qualified for the main in the other car owned by Sherrell's owners.

Midget main was exciting with the Kruser taking it coming through turn four on the last lap.

Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. was absolutely incredible taking the sprint main in his family's 40R and winning the Silver Crown feature in the Roger Johnson/Carl Edwards owned 199. Stenhouse drove masterful races in both features leaving the Manzanita crowd asking "Who is this guy?" It was great. Bud Kaeding took advantage of a mid race red during the Silver Crown feature to put a big gumball on the right rear and then proceeded to make his own groove on the cushion/fence in one and two to charge all the way to fourth from the back of the field.

It was good to talk with Jack Claxton in the Phoenix airport as he was on the same flight home. He looks good.

I can't wait for this show next year. This has the potential to be one of the finest programs in the country.

I'm jealous. I figured this would be a great show.

I was thinking about you and when I saw the car counts, knew you were in Heaven and may not make it back here.

100 inch champ cars on a half mile track again, geeez.

Did I mention 75 degrees during the day and short sleeves at night? Or yet another visit to the Penske racing museum? Or vintage racing at PIR Saturday?

A really great weekend.
