CAROLINA CLASH, COOKE, BIG 8 SERIES, SHAFFER, AND GODOWN HEADLINE Dirt Nation™

 

Hampton, VA --- The Dirt Nation™ presented by Lucas Oil radio show on Monday evening February 12th will present a plethora of special guests from the world of dirt track racing across the country. Dirt Nation™ presented by Lucas Oil airs from 8:00 - 10:00 PM EST on WLRT 1490 THE OUTLAW and can be accessed over the internet at: www.racetalklive.com and www.dirtnation.net, and is hosted by Dave Seay.

Dirt Nation™ will spotlight the Carolina Clash Late Model Series. Joining the show to talk about the upcoming 2007 season will be new Series Director Clint Elkins. Elkins was the series Rookie of the Year in 2005 and competed part time with the series in 2006 before taking over the promoting reigns.

Also joining Dirt Nation™ to discuss southern dirt late model racing and the Carolina Clash will be 'Mr. Saturday Night' Jeff Cooke of Spartanburg, SC. Some of Cooke's accomplishments include being the 2003 Southern All Stars Rookie of the Year and 2005 Southern Nationals Champion. Cooke drives the Jeff Cooke Racing, owned Clements powered, PPM chassis #99 sponsored by PPM Racing, Clements Automotive and Big A's Custom Graphics.

Dirt Nation™ will also spotlight the new Big 8 Series for Super Late Models and Sprint Cars at two popular northern Ohio dirt tracks. Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, OH and Lakeville Speedway in Lakeville, OH will join forces for a series of special events that could find a Super Late Model and a Sprint Car driver either $25,000 or $50,000 richer with the formation of the Big 8 Series for both Super Late Models and Sprint Cars. Joining the show to talk about this landmark cooperation between the two facilities will be Tina Heil, General Manager at Wayne County Speedway; Ernie Coffman, owner & promoter at Wayne County Speedway and Bob Schippers, owner & promoter of Lakeville Speedway.

Dirt Nation™ will also spotlight World of Outlaws Sprint Car star Tim Shaffer of Aliquippa, PA. Shaffer is coming back from a neck injury sustained in a vicious wreck, June 23rd of last year, at Knoxville Raceway. Shaffer won the 1993 Lernerville Speedway Track Championship and the 1999 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award and has 11 career World of Outlaws A-feature triumphs to his credit. 'The Steel City Outlaw' pilots the Lonny Parson's owned, Kisler powered Chevrolet Maxim #6 sponsored by Casey's General Stores and Housby Mack, Inc.

Making a first time visit to Dirt Nation™ will be northeast modified driver Ryan Godown of Ringoes, NJ. Godown is a regular New Egypt Speedway and Georgetown Speedway and also hits select Advance Auto Parts Super Dirt Series races. 'The Ringoes Rocket" pilots the Godown Racing owned Tony Feil powered Chevrolet Troyer #747 / #26 and sponsored by Stanton Hill landscaping, J. Strober & Sons Roofing, Venus Tile and Marble, Champion Tire and Hamlin Flooring.

Joining Dirt Nation™ with a live update from the 36th Annual Florida DIRTcar Nationals presented by Mopar Speedshop held a Volusia Speedway Park will be world of Outlaws Late Model Series Public Relations Director Kevin Kovac. Kovac will also preview the weeks racing that includes World of Outlaws and UMP Late Model racing and Advance Auto Parts Big Block Modified racing.
