Delte Motorsports Aim For Civil War Championship

By: Troy Hennig

San Jose, CA driver Jeff Delte is excited about the upcoming 2007
sprint
car season. The nineteen-year-old will commit to the entire Civil War
Series along with selective races at Placerville Speedway, Ocean
Speedway in Watsonville, some 410 Golden State King of California
events
and trying his hand with non-wing events throughout California. “This
upcoming season is going to be pretty exciting for our team,” said
Delte. “This will be the first year running for points since my
rookie
year in 2004.” The Delte Motorsports #11d sponsored by Sun Electric,
Souza Tile, Higgs Construction and Kaeding Performance is also
welcoming
a new crew chief. Rocklin's Darin Smith (Heavy D) will become the new
man in charge of pointing the 11d in the right direction. “I'm
excited
to have him with us this year,” said Delte. “I know he has a ton of
experience and makes drivers a lot quicker than they are used to
going.”
The Delte Motorsports #11d is owned by Jeff Delte Sr. The team utilizes
Maxim chassis and Dave Hayver motors.

Delte began racing at the age of 11 with the San Jose Kart Club.
Between
the age of 11 and the time he was ready to drive a sprint car, Delte
raced go karts, mini sprints and competed in every sport in high school
he could play. He finished his go kart career with 11 wins and won all
the big races in the mini sprints. In 2004 he entered his rookie season
in sprint cars. He ran the his rookie season with the Rebel Cup Series.
He finished eighth in points and awarded the most improved and
determined driver. In 2005 his biggest accomplishment was making the
Gold Cup Race of Champions Friday night main event in his 360 sprint
car. It was also the first time he raced at Chico.

“This year is going to take a lot of hard work and determination,”
said
Delte. “But I'm up to the task. I'm looking forward to racing with
Darin
and I am very excited about running at Placerville Speedway. I have
never raced at that neat Lil' bullring!” Delte Motorsports is also
looking for addition sponsors. If you are interested please contact
