John "Jack" Krenn,71 years old,was born in Buffalo, New York on March 26th 1935 and had been a resident of Alameda for over 30 years living on his beauitful houseboat. Jack died suddenly in Santa Rosa, New Mexico on Jan. 14th, 2007. He was returning back from the 2007 CHILI BOWL auto racing event in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jack was doing what he loved-----------racing!
Jack as he was known to his friends and associates worked for over 25 years for BMW Concord. Before that he owned sporting good stores. He served his country in the military and was a professional baseball player in the New York Yankees organization.
Jack was his own man, and Jack could always be counted on. He leaves no known immediate family. Jack's family was his auto racing friends and his co-workers. His love and passion in life were open-wheel racing cars. He owned racing cars that participated mostly in California and Arizona, but that didn't stop him from auto racing all over the United States.
He was a member of USAC (U.S. Auto Club, based in Indianapolis).
Jack was best known among his friends as a "Cranky Old Bugger"! Jack you will be missed by all your friends at the auto races. We miss you already.
His life will be celebrated at: Hulls Funeral Home in Walnut Creek, Ca at 11:30 am on Saturday, January 27th, 2007.
