A year after his first Ford Focus Midget Car Series experience on the West Coast, Barber was a threat to win anything and everything in California Focus racing, and nearly did, taking Top-3 points finishes in both the Pavement and Dirt. His efforts in the Dirt series garnered him the series title. In 2006 Chase moved up to race in the Western States Midget Car Series, which he is currently in second in the points.
