ok whats going on with WoO? Seems like every 410 in america thats not a posse member is going on the road...

Chad Hillier, Tony Bruce, James Mosher announced today, joining the 16 from last year plus additions of Lasoski, Solowold, Sides, Kaeding, Kinser, McMahon, Stewart, and Shaffer. Plus you have Rilat and Allard probably running the full deal. So you're going to have like 30 full time cars. In some ways thats good for the individual races to be able to have a garunteed car count, but I think on the grand scale of everything, its just going to force out the little guys on the local level.

Thats not exactly a news flash. The local racer got a break last year but I had an idea it wasn't going to last....never seems to. NST wasn't going to be self supporting. I'm personally amazed they made it all the way through the season since Petty and Stewart dumped them before they ever got going! I think next year the locals will be better off watching from the stands and not beating up their equipment. But you know how that goes, seems like we gotta try anyway.

It will tough for anyone to make the 24 car A-Main. Isn't that what everybody wanted? Big car counts, growth, and the local guys having to work really hard to make the field?

Going to be some really good B-Mains at the beginning of the season.

You guys can't decide? Last year the car counts were too small with the split and everyone was complaining . This year , the car counts are up and you are complaining again? Make up your minds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like the  traveling series' car car counts . I guess I go to watch good racing instead of complaining about what I might see. I'll enjoy seeing full A,B,C,and D mains when I go to a WoO event. Hopefully , this will bring the crowds back bigger than ever , and they can start paying big money in the B,C, and D mains and they won't have to raise the sanctioning fee a whole lot to play tow money . Make them race for it . The fans will come !

IMHO...( I believe someone already stated the following a few weeks ago on a similar thread, but,...)

I think we'll see a drop-off (a couple early) throughout the season of teams that might not do as well as they thought and aren't consistantly making the show, or, are not getting a share of show-up/tow money and just can't hack it financially. In other words towards the end of the season (maybe sooner) we'll see the usual suspects out there. Until then...enjoy the high car counts, competition and the fierce "B" mains mentioned above.

I am almost postive that Jon Allard is going to run for the Golden State Challenge championship again like last year. I would imagine that are going to be about 60 or so 410s at Tulare come the end of Februrary for the Woo race. I am really looking forward to seeing everyone racing together again and I know there will be a good amount of local California drivers.

Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the

the little local guys being forced out ? i guess it depends on what part of the country you live in --- i guaranty you that at-least 1/2 the A main field at any track in California will be California drivers-----cant wait for Tulare

it seems every year there are some teams that announce they are going to run the whole deal but really just start early and see how they are doing when their local tracks start in april.

The next thing you know, they will be like Nascar and 18 teams will always be in and everyone else will race for 4 spots.

With this many fulltimers running, it will be harder for locals to make the main, there will be a few outlaws that are gonna struggle to make the show. Should be a very interesting year to say the least. By the time mid season rolls around you'll probably see several teams change plans. It would really be interesting if  Wilson & the other top drivers from the AllStars would join in. From a fans point of view, this will be a season to remember! Go WOO!

Now I personally welcome WoO back to Oklahoma. Not many local 410's here. Maybe about 4-8 might show if they did. But I don't think the WoO was waiting on my invitation to come to the Sooner state. Seems Lanny Edwards will never promote a WoO race again, so the closest I can go to see em is Wichita or Dodge City, KS. Maybe someday they could run Tri-State in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Anybody know why they never run I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas?

People are to hug up about numbers. Thirty or so team is to many and the smaller teams will be the ones that pays for it in the end.

One positive that did come out of the split is that it put more teams out on the road. But don't count on the local guys being squeezed out too badly in areas like central PA, northern OH and Knoxville. Plus, it is true that some number of those traveling teams will drop off as time goes on, with some returning to the local tracks and others moving to the All Stars. All in all though, big car counts could not possibly be a bad thing in any way.

Twenty8 hit the nail on the head. When the first non transfer car in the B gets $200, and it goes down from there, you do the math...CZ

First non-transfer in the B gets $500. I think everyone gets $100 now.

The tow money is paid in a tier system , but when it was explained last week on John Katich's show , the audio was bad and I couldn't hear it . I'd like to see the system spelled out in writing to figure it out . It sounds like you get more or less depending on how many races you have or are going to run .

i posted awhile back before christmas that there could be around 30 traveling teams. a lot of people thought i was nuts. (they know me too well lol.) as far as cars falling out , take a look at just how many fairly well funded teams are in the mix. i agree that there are teams that may not make it the whole season, but you have to remember that a lot of teams found out last year what it takes to run the whole year because they bit the bullit and went for it because of the split. so they have a good idea what to expect even if they may not make as much money. and a lot of teams have continued to sign on even after the list was pretty full. so they knew how competitive it would be . you will always have the "schleprocks" and chicken littles on this board who's first reaction is negitive to anything that even remotely points to woo improvement. that is why so many people here react by saying the car count will fall off, or that woo is so much better now because of the nst. because they can not stand to see it do well because they trash it so much. and after the nst folded it chaps their ass even more because they take it personal because they jumped on that wagon hard and held on tight as it road over the cliff. that is their problem, they followed the green car and it lead them right back to where they were before. only now they have a years worth of smack talk to try and choke back down and it isn't tasting very good. pride is not easy to swallow. the only way they can win is if woo fails. but if they like sprint racing they are in a catch 22. kind of like democrats who can only claim victory for their side if their country fails.

damn good points all around man. Even on the democrats!

The bashers do have a lot to choke back down eh? I'd really like to see a WoO race this year as it looks to be as competitive year since I've been around (only 24). Maybe I could swing up to Dodge City and catch em there. That right in Tony Bruce and Jason Martin's backyard and maybe some ASCS cars might run it as well. Should be a great race.
