If the Copper Classic race is sactioned as a USAC/CRA race, NOT a National Sprint Car race, why is it that on the sheet to enter the race in very small letters it states that the two provisionals in the sprint car class will not go to the top 15 guys in CRA, but rather to two who finished in the Top 20 in Nationals Points?!? Basically, if someone like Jones or Williams has trouble, as has happened in previous years during the early races, they are S.O.L. when it comes to provisionals. Is this just a mistake on the entry sheet or another example of being the left out stepchild class of USAC?

It looks like a national points race to me at least for the big cars and midgets?

"The race will mark the 2007 debut of USAC’s Silver Crown, National and Western Midget racing series, while the USAC/CRA Sprint Cars, originally scheduled at Perris, Calif. on Feb. 10, will open their 2007 campaign at The PAS on Feb. 3."

They are calling it "The Copper" in memory of Roger McClusky, confusing with the "Copper World Classic" at PIR that we always called the Copper Classic and now with the Roger McClusky Classic in Tuscon...Well you see what I mean.

Anyhow I'm excited to see the big cars on the dirt ,last year the "new" silver crown "race" at the Copper Classic at PIR was a joke!

Wouldn't miss it for the world. I'll be getting off work early Fri and coming down from Prescott and standing in line with the rest of the top row, toward turn one, general admission nuts.
