Look around at the crowd nowadays and you can see a lot of grey hair in the stands, what I try to do is get people out to the track. People who have never seen a sprint car race, the younger the better... Bug friends at work who have no idea of what you are talking about when you keep bringing this sprint car stuff up and get them out to the track!

P.S. Don't let them wear any NASCAR stuff....... Kenny

Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

We get 3 seats every year at the Chili Bowl which is one more than we need. I was born and raised in Tulsa and lived there for 34 years, so I still have a lot of friends and family there. Each night, we take someone different in hopes of showing them a good time and to try and make one more fan. We have had mixed results over the years, but this year, we hit the jackpot. Since Tuesday was general admission, I invited a good friend out and suggested that he bring his 15 year old son (who had never seen a dirt race). Well, he ended up coming out with his son and his sister and her husband. They are ALL NASCAR fans, so I spent the better part of the night explaining the cars, rules and format (which thoroughly confused them). I could tell that they had mixed reactions early on, but fortunately we saw one unbelievable feature and they were beside themselves. One line that was constantly repeated was "now THAT'S racing!!!). I had to get a little dig in and told them that "you don't see that on Sunday afternoon, do ya?" and they all agreed!Well, they are all now planning for 2008 and the 15 year old is hooked BIGTIME according to his dad.

On Wednesday and Saturday night, my best friend of over 30 years went.....Another NASCAR fan.......he wants our extra ticket for all four nights next year....

I would suggest and encourage everyone on here to take someone to the races that normally wouldn't go, pay their way if you have to. I get just as big a thrill at watching their reaction after a monster slidejob as I do watching the races, and who knows, you might create another fan in the process.

Spent last night watching Outlaws Down Under at Parramatta City Raceway here in Sydney Australia.Due to 40 deg.(100+ in your language) heat there was a bit of dust.We were treated to a great nights racing with the cream of Australias drivers doing battle with 21 Americans.Steve K and Sammy put on a show you would sell the house to see and yet when I went to the pits all I heard was bitching about the bit of dust.Got up this morning and the chat rooms don't mention the great racing just how bad things are.Sell it to new people? With the 20% of fools down here chasing spectators away it becomes just about impossible to get new supporters as all they hear are negative comments.Keep up the battle ,we have a great product and need to make new spectators aware we exist and one day we will overcome the knockers.
