Friday - Lernerville, Sarver PA

Saturday - Sharon, Hartford, OH or Mercer Raceway Park, Mercer PA or Attica Raceway Park, Fremont OH

Sunday - Tri-City, Franklin PA

Or you could check the All Star Sprint schedule to see where they are racing.....

Fremont would be an easy drive, 2-3 miles south of the turnpike exit (route 53). You can even listen on the radio. Swamp, help me out here....

All of the scheduling is not complete, but here are dates I have listed on my preliminary schedule. I estimated the driving time and direction from downtown Cleveland - you will need to verify this info.

Regular racing
Friday - Attica, Hilltop, Lernerville(PA)
Saturday - Sharon, Fremont, Wayne Co.
there are also several paved tracks within 2 hrs of Cleveland

Specials
June 1 Fri - WoO Sprints - Sharon Speedway about 1 hr SE
June 2 Sat - WoO Sprints - Eldora Speedway about 3-4 hrs SW
June 2 Sat - MSA Supers - Sandusky Speedway about 1/2 hr W (paved)
June 5 Tue - ASCoC Sprints - Lernerville Speedway about 3 (?) hrs SE also UMP Modifieds
June 15 Fri - ISMA Supers - Toledo Speedway about 2 hrs W (paved)
June 30 Sat - MSA Supers - Sandusky Speedway about 1/2 hr W (paved)

Ohio Speedweeks (All Stars - ASCoC Sprints) are scheduled to race from the 23rd (?) -30th - the only confirmed dates I have heard of are:
June 24 Sun - Attica Raceway Park about 1 1/2 hrs W
June 27 Wed - Hilltop Speedway about 1 1/2 hrs S
June 30 Sat - Eldora Speedway about 4 (?) hrs SW
Other dates may likely go to Fremont, Limaland, Sharon, Wayne Co. or K-C

Also worthy of mention - if you enjoy these events
June 6-9 - Late Models DREAM - $100K Eldora Speedway about 4 (?) hrs SW
June 9 Sat - USAR-Hooters Pro Cup - Mansfield Motorsports Speedway about 1 hr S (NOT sprints - paved)
June 15-17 IHRA eMax Nitro-Jam - Mansfield Drag Strip about 1 hr S (NOT sprints - paved)
June 15-17 Nextel, Busch, ARCA - Michigan Int Speedway about 3 hrs NE (NOT sprints - paved)
June 22-24 - CHAMP Cars + support series - Burke Lakefront Airport downtown Cleveland (NOT sprints - paved)
June 22-24 - Grand Am Rolex + support series - Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course about 1 hr S (NOT sprints - paved)
June 29 Fri - USAR-Hooters Pro Cup - Lake Erie Speedway about 2 hrs E (NOT sprints - paved)

I may have missed a date or track, but it was not intentional.

It kind of looks like you could spend the entire month of June in Ohio and not get bored!

Lernerville is a must if you are in the area. There are four great divisions of racing for a reasonable price (including concessions). It is a nice facility and you usually get out of there at a decent hour of the morning. The program is straight through with very little (if any intermission) although a few B Mains are usually needed. The four divisions include 410 sprints, big block modifieds, late models, and street stocks. If you have any more questions feel free to email me at [email protected]. I do not attend weekly but make the hour drive as much as possible.

If you get some off time try going to the Islands in Lake Erie.

The Jet Express runs out of Port Clinton and Sandusky.

A great relaxing day can be spent there.

Welcome to the Buckeye State!

Thank You for the information. We live about 20 minutes south of Knoxville and want to go see some great racing sounds like we shouldn't have any problem finding any.

I have mentioned it before, but any sprint fan traveling to Ohio is welcome to spend a day or two at my place in Bucyrus, just a scant 15 minutes south of Attica. Less than an hour from Fremont, Limaland, Hilltop, and Wayne County. Two hours from KC and Eldora and 2 1/2 from Sharon. Have a pool so you have something to do during the early day while I work. Just set it up with me in advance and bring a love of sprint car racing and we'll get along fine.

I am also going to the Pittsburg area the weekend of June 16th. I really want to go to Learnerville on the 15th, but will they be having sprint cars that night? I looked at the schedule and I couldn't tell what was going on. I also heard that Williams Grove will have an All Star race that weekend, but it is 3 hours away. What should I do? I really want to see a good track and good sprint car racing.

Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

Mark, it just depends on who is running what in the way of specials that weekend. Check the All Star schedule and see if they are running at any of the tracks in question for that weekend you choose. The weekend you want to be home would be the best to be here with Speedweek beginning. That is one of the highlights of the season.

If all that is going on is regular shows then I would suggest Attica on Friday and Fremont on Saturday. They have big car counts and give you 305 sprints as well. You'll see plenty of sprint racing that way. Both are nice facilities with well ran shows. Both are also easily accessible from Cleveland area via the turnpike. Very easy driving. If I had my way and was visiting the area, I would get a room in Tiffin or Willard (or crash at my place if you like) after the Friday Attica show and spend Saturday morning and early afternoon visiting the Lake Erie area which is only minutes away from Fremont.

I guess it would be best to wait until all the tracks in question release their schedules and then maybe email me and we can make some suggestions.

I can tell you that Lernerville has a lot of history to it and puts on a decent show with Late Models and mods in addition to the sprints. The sprint quantity and quality doesn't match Attica though and it is farther away than Attica, harder to get to. Sharon, which would have to be your sister track to Lernerville, should you decide to go that direction, is a tremendous facility. Very well done and modernized. They do lack for numbers however with a typical car count of 20 or less. No question the quantity and quality are at Attica/Fremont. The 305's and the proximity to the lake seal the deal for me.

You can email me at [email protected] for any other info.

From the looks of the schedule, the weeknd you are speaking of should be a great weekend of racing. And I will probably be there. Lernerville does their 4th of July fireworks a few weeks early (which happens to be that weekend). There should be all four divisions racing (sprints, late models, pure stocks, and modifieds). The mods are running a few extra laps for cash but all other divisions are on a normal schedule. If you have any other questions please let me know.

Have a good one,
Sprinterfan
