David..........I sympathize for ya. Yours and mine beloved Oklahoma Sooners are gonna be the laughingstock of college football, which is sure to play heavy on the minds of any 5 star high school recruits OU would go after. This type of thing is a program killer. The only mid-major team to play in a BCS game was Utah. And they thumped Pittsburgy by 30 points. Look where Pitt is now. Even with a former NFL coach they aren't even conenders in the Big East. We know OU as a program is better than Pitt, but damn this one is gonna hurt.

And if that isn't enough. The Dallas Cowboys are the laughingstock of the NFL. It's one thing for a playoff team to start dropping a couple of games at the end of the year, but the way their defense is givin up points they would be lucky to hold Seattle under 40. But hey if they take down Seattle and get a shot at Chicago......that would look better. Chicago has Grossman issues and their defense is banged up. But assuming they make it to the Super Bowl I would bet that LT and the Chargers make short work. Now don't be offended David, I'm here to give you the good news......................

Dirt track racing starts in little over 2 months.

Ah hell we scored! well, with a stop or 2 on defense we might be back in this game. Man I really hope we don't lose to these smerfs...............

What a game! It was kind of bitter sweet to me. The Sooners did a nice job of making a come back and I hated to see them lose but BSU played one hell of a game! I don't care if you're a Sooner fan or not you have to hand it to Boise State. They gave their all and played their hearts out! So to them I say congrats! They fought for it tooth and nail. If they hadn't of been playing OU I would of been routing for them 100%. What can I say... I'm a sucker for the underdogs.

Great game. Ending kinda sucked, but oh well. Besides, if I could be a fan when Schnellenberger was here, I can handle an 11-3 season.

Hey Bud, what the hell is wrong with what OKCfan said? I can rather agree with what he said. And yes, I am a huge fan, almost too extreme and have been since 1973. I have cried, laughed, been amazed, knocked holes in my parents walls with my head and punched holes when not happy with the outcome. All because I love my Sooners and always will no matter what.

With that said, we got beat by an average team and outcoached all game long. We had an average quarterback that we have had all season and it finally caught up with us. And yes I say average because we had no offense with him against Oregon or Texas. Yes we won the Big 12 but big doo doo as the Big 12 is just average this year. Yes, 8 teams made bowl appearances but only three came out on the winning end. One didn't deserve to be there with a 6 and 6 record and took overtime to win that one after trying to give it away. Texas barely escaped from receiving their fourth loss of the season.Thompson was all we had because of the circumstances and we just got by all year and as I said, it caught up with us.

I am totally pissed and embarressed because I love my Sooners enough and take enough pride in them to get offended when the know-it-alls on ESPN talk bad about OU, and I believe we will be the laughing stock. This makes the third straight BCS bowl game that we got beat and just think, if we can reach the Rose Bowl next year and get beat, we can be the first team with the quadrepa, losing four BCS bowl games in a roll.

Yes we got out coached and I won't go through all the examples as to why now. There is one way you can beat OU and that has been the case for many, many years. That is throw the football deep. I watched in person when Jeff Hostetler and John Elway did it in Norman and I have watched it every year since. We can't stop the deep ball. Hell, my Dallas Cowboys can't even cover their own damn sister as they too get beat by the long ball constantly. That and can't tackle worth a crap.

In the end, I agree with what OKC fan says and I don't agree with what he says even 2 % of the time. (don't let that get too your head OKC). It is the fans who sit back and pretend there is nothing wrong and that the Sooners poop don't stink and think the world is out to get them that gives the Sooners a bad name. I heard all the smack talk those Sooner "fans" were saying about we should be playing somebody better and I just shook my head. As I did with the way some of the players on the team did Monday night.

Good redence Paul Thompson, hope you don't fumble your next job opportunity.

I've always hated to say if about a ballgame but I just wonder what those Broncos would've done if they were down to OU earlier in the game. You guys think they would've gone that deep in the playbook as early as the first quarter? You guys think that if paul Thompson didn't throw the ball to the wrong team early in the game that OU could've beat them? Maybe so. I'll tell ya one thing, them Boise State guys came to play and win at all costs. I congratulate them for taking advantage of the opportuinities they were given.

BTW, I am a huge OU fan.

I am not a Sooner fan but I think that Bob Stoops is one hell of a coach. He lost his starting QB right before the season starts then loses Peterson and still found ways to win. Hell he goes 11 and 3 which should have been 12 and 2. In the 3 loses he didn't lose by that much. Thompson just had an off day. GO BUCKEYES!!!!

I didn't say he wasn't a good coach, I said he got out coached in this game. Boise State out fundamentaled them. They didn't have the talent but they done all the basics and fundamentals it took to win and had the confidence after their first score. Thompsons fumble really got them rolling. I am fully aware of the breaks in a ball game and things happen. I also meant it though that Thompson just got the Sooners by this year and it caught up with him. There was nothing Stoops could do about the quarterback situation so he had to make due with what he had.

Sorry just bitter, even eighteen hours after the final whistle.

LOL no goin to the head here Dave. Boy a lot happened after I started this thread. First we come back........then down again. then back then lose. Like I said above.........we all know Boise St. is an average team with one of the best coaches in football. Where they went right and Sooners went wrong was who wanted it more. I think it was OU's talent that kept them in the game. Not much else. Boise St. players just wanted it more. And it doesn't help when you get outcoached the way Bob Stoops did. If he is a good coach (I think he is( then all he can do is learn from it. Hopefully he doesn't pull a Kelvin Sampson and jump ship. He got beat just the same and probably worse than the rest of the team. If you can't defend a 4th and 18 from the 50 with 0:22 seconds left you probably do not deserve to win the game. But on the flip side of the coin college football needed this. This goes a long LONG way for the argument of a playoff. And these mid-major school need shots like this and even wins like this against huge programs the likes of OU. B/C of this game 17 million will be split up in the WAC conference. This goes a long way in helping teams like Nevada, San Jose St., among many others. yeah College Football needed this. BIG TIME. It just sucks the biggest balls in the universe that it had to happen AGAINST OU. O well. All I can say is I am glad to not put as much time n faith into Sooner Football as my brother and father. Their year is almost ruined. Mine is just warmin up for 1 week from tonight. And for all of us the thankfully short off-season is windin down.

So there's something we can all be happy about. yeah this was disappointing for OU and their fans. But we always got dirt track racing. Most of us race fans put that before all else (OUTSIDE of home, family, and the workplace). So in about 8 or 9 weeks OUR year seriously begins. Outside of the pro/factory stock situation this comin year at SFS looks to be good one with lots of good racin and good times.

So happy New Year to all of you. IT IS WHAT IT IS.

Hey David you said good riddins to Paul thompson i agree to, but guess what we dont have anybody for next year and i mean nobody and what happens when peterson leaves and believe me he is leaving we have a rebuilding year again with the two main players with a couple of good running backs not great like peterson but good and no quarter back i mean nobody. so us die hard OU FANS LIKE ME BIG TIME have to wait and see what happens very depressing but hey oh well its almost racing time hell yea.

David, question here who is the 6 and 6 team that went to overtime to win? If you are talking about OSU then yes they were 6 and 6 but they did not go into overtime to win. Ricks kicked a field goal with 13 sec in regulation to win the game.

Bosie St. played with hope and heart to win that game. I am not a fan of ou but I am a fan of college football and that game was one of the best. Bosie St. did not know that they were suppose to loose that game they thought they had a chance to win and that is why games are played on the field and not on paper.
