Just read Brooke has been informed he is out of the Vermeer #55. Terribly sad to here this, especially for Brooke and his family. We also just bought a home in Iowa and was gonna hit a whole lot of Knoxville this year, particularly looking forward to seeing Brooke run a lot more than we have in the past.Brooke is a stand up guy and hope he finds another ride.

After all the verbal abuse from the car owner that Brooke took the last couple season, I'm surprised he stayed. Then he gets canned while out of the country, seems pretty shitty to me. That rides a joke, here's to a more relaxed atmosphere!

I live near the Tatnells in Forest Lake and they're great people.  I have never heard Brooke say a bad word about anyone and these past ten years or so he's had plenty of opportunities to vent but he always keeps it classy.  Here's hoping that something comes along in the 410's so he can continue to race down at Knoxville.  There isn't much up here, only a couple appearances of 360's and 410's and we have limited wing and non-wing classes so there's a lot of Sprint Car racing nearby but nothing someone with his credentials would be interested right now.  Maybe he'll jump in one of those classes in another ten years but he's still got some wins left in him and he's got a great crew chief by his side.

Was this not already announced earlier? I might be confused with another driver.

That car used to be pretty competitive and now it's less so. The timing blows for sure but the car probably could be doing a little better that it has been the past few seasons.

Car owners replace drivers all the time, I get that.  But to not do anything until January would leave a bad taste in my mouth if I was their driver regardless of my performance.  Either they didn't tell him out of spite or someone came in with money or motors and made an offer they couldn't refuse which seems most likely in view of the circumstances. Either scenario is disturbing in it's own right after they parted ways leaving the impression that he still had a ride for 2020.

It's tough to get a Sprint Car ride living up here in Minnesota, most every Sprint Car driver owns their own ride and runs in the UMSS limited classes.  Brooke drives a 360 for Duane and John Nelson but they only take the car out a handful of times each season and as far as I know are sticking to that schedule.  I'm hoping for the best and that Brooke can find something to drive at Knoxville as he is well liked down there.

Maybe with all of these top end drivers lacking rides fans from across the nation could form a co op and supply 1 or 2 drivers with a ride.

I know that's a ridiculous idea but if fans at Eagle can get a purse to pay tow money to the first teams eliminated why not.

I know it wouldn't work but it would be cool to have a team owned by 100 people, conference calls would be interesting but hey, why not...

This may not be as far fetched as you think. I too have thought about this. What would be a realistic budget to run Knoxville weekly? If we know that then we could figure out how many fans we would need. Would Brooke be receptive to this? I know I would pony up some $$ to help out.
it may even satisfy the dream for some of us to have an interest in a team. I also own accommodation 25 miles from the track that can be utilized free of charge.

Perhaps Stan could find out an answer to some of my questions?

any interest please email me @ [email protected]

Hey even a ride for Nationals at this point.

I think an Idea like what was done last year where a sponsorship from Priority Aviation was given to the team raising the most money for the HoF could work. Even if the fans put up $10k it would get a lot of interest. I would definitely participate, but it would have to be shown to be a valid exercise with the right people around to make sure the money went to the right place.

I agree 100%. Somebody would have to manage the deal. I have many questions as to operational costs. Perhaps somebody in the know could email me at [email protected]

I think it would be easier to find 100 people with $1000 rather than 1 person with $100,000, as an example. Not sure where to even start with this.

That's not my place to get involved in their racing business.  My name attached to their racing efforts would do them more harm than good.  I'm the former racing writer and photographer everyone loves to hate.

When you mention finding out in January that you have been let go, I can't help but think of what happened to Dobmeier a couple of years ago.  The Grinde's informed him in MARCH that he no longer had a ride.  Classy move on their part.  Bad taste in your mouth?  I would think so.  It's incredible Mark was able to buy the BWW#82 team, buy a new house with a shop on the property, and put a new team together in 6 weeks time.  I feel bad for Brooke, but he definitely is one of "the good guys" and will bounce back just like Dobs did!

I don't see them very often anymore so I'll probably be the last to know unless we run into them around town.  I haven't been going to any of the banquets or swap meets so that's not likely to happen.

Tatnell is a good experienced driver and I actually thought when the 2KS ride opened up that he would be a good choice.I dont know how many rides are left without bring money. Some have started their own teams but it is hard to make a living.
