Great run Logan!!!  Congrats to you and the entire Zemco team.  You really smoked them.  Great run also for Freddie.  Way to fast for the 69K.

I guess it was too fast for the 48 then as well? I highly doubt that.  Hater.

How much passing, besides the 91 car did you see?  High sppeds are cool for time trials, but not after that.  Not the fault of track preparation, that is what you get with cloudcover and high moisture all day, just not my type of racing, follow the leader.  I like to see passing and multiple grooves, again, no fault of the track last night, there was little they could do about mother nature.

Go 69K!

Absolutely love the high speeds, the faster the better!!  No slip n slid ice rink like the Port has been most all year.

Port might be a slip n slide alot of times but you see lots of passing.  There was almost zero passing the entire program with the exception of the 39 moving up a few spots.  Aside from that, the top five finished where they started.....exciting. If you like just watching fast cars with no passing you may want to switch to drag racing.  I'll take a slicker track with tons of passing over high speed choo choo trains any day of the week. Do I enjoy fast sprint cars, hell yeah, but I also want to see passing through the entire field.  Funny thing is that Strawser, the Selinsgrove lover,  will come on here and say how great it was (like you) but if the exact race was run at Port, he would bash the hell out of it.  The racing sucked, period.  Just like if that was at Port, it still would have sucked.  Weather didn't help with so much moisture during the day but that's the cards the tracks are dealt.

You are allowed your opinion and so am I.  Also Strawser is allowed his opinions as well.  That is what make the world go around.

It was nice to get the race in last night and not have to use the Sunday rain date but the earlier rain and continued cloud cover made the track extremely fast and difficult to pass. Not the tracks fault. Yes they ran but there wasn't much racing going on. I prefer to watch a race where the outcome isn't determined by the pill draw. As far as the speed while it may be exciting to some I find it concerning. Those cars will absolutely go that fast but when they crash at those speeds it can get very  nasty in a hurry.

Would it really have been that bad if they postponed it until today, Sunday, knowing today’s weather forecast was nearly as perfect as can be. A 6:00pm start on a Sunday with two divisions would have been completed by 9;00pm. (Most likely)

So yea, they got the race in on a Saturday, but what fan and race team was satisfied besides the Zemco team when whoever drew the 1 pill out of those 6 was going to win (most likely).

Good point.  It is what it is though, it happens to all tracks.  But anyone saying that was good racing has no idea what racing relaly is.  It's definitely more than just cars going real fast around a track with little to no passing. That's what Crapcar is for.

Rain dates rarely have the attendance that the scheduled date does so that's why you see these tracks push so hard to get their shows in like Selinsgrove did last night. It was wet but credit to them, it was smooth. I thought for sure the track would be rough. We recieved quite a bit of rain on Wednesday and Thursday and the sun didn't come out for basically 4 full days. They did the best they could with what they had. It wasn't any different than Port Royal's speedweek show this year but all I heard that night was praise about how they didn't give up and they got the show in and they deserved every bit of it. Yet Selinsgrove does the same thing and I see some of the same people who praised Port bitching about last night. The double standard with Port vs. everyone else is laughable sometimes. If Port does it, they kicked mother natures ass and stole one for the home team. If Williams Grove or anyone else does it was boring and one lane....should've cancelled. I for one would like to thank Mike Heffner, Steve Inch and Alan Kreitzer for putting on the show last night. Those speeds were exciting. I don't wanna see that every week but they did the best they could with the hand they were dealt. And as far as far as the drivers who went out there and ran those things wide open at those speeds: those guys are certified bad asses for whom I have the utmost respect.

Excellent post......agree 100%. Personally Selinsgrove is one of my favorite tracks. Was last night's race as good as last year's Jim Nace race, no.......but I am glad I was there. Hats off to the Selinsgrove promotors for giving it their all. For the life of me, I do not understand why Selinsgrove gets a bad rap?????

Strawser conditions - New track records but no passing. I figured it would be that way with the rain we had in the afternoon but I was still highly disappointed. Only 2 410 races at Selinsgrove this year and a very nice field of cars for the 20G. I would have loved to see them go at it on a track that you could actually race on. Props to the track crew for keeping it smooth though. I guess they did the best they could under the conditions.

It was nice to see the Zemco team take home the big check. That car has always been a rocketship at Selinsgrove but has had a lot of bad luck there also. Congrats to Logan Wagner and the team!

HUGE difference, Selinsgrove had a built in rain date, Port Royal not only didn’t have a built in rain date, they didn’t have a rain date at all. BIG difference and the two situations can not be compared To each other.

1 thing that Port is really good at is anticipating the weather conditions and prepping the track accordingly. If they see rain is in the forecast, they will try to compensate by leaving the track so it can absorb a shower or else sealing it by packing it in tight ahead of time - so most of the rain will run off. Of course nobody nails it every time but I think Port is far and away the area leader in providing a racey surface. Port is also banked higher in the turns which makes the top groove usually the fastest way around even when it's slick. I'm no Port homer either. Selinsgrove is actualluy my hometown. Just a dude that likes good racing. I call 'em as a I sees 'em.

No they weren't my conditions.  Not the fault of the track either.  It is just what you get with rain and cloud cover.  I like it fast at the beginning of the night,  but Selinsgrove last night was way too fast and is the fastest track in PA.  Why do you think some drivers will not race there?  It isn't because they don't like the racing.....it is because of the speed!

Wild night....glad I went.  Reinhardt was flying around the speedway in the first half of the race 21st to 9th in the first 20 laps.  I wish he would have been able to start for the second half.  He was on a rail.  Macri was fast too.  They all were fast.

Let's go Sprint Car Racing!

Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

No it isn't a huge difference. In principle, it's the exact same thing. If that had been Port Royal, they would've done the exact same thing Selinsgrove did. They would've opted to get the race in as scheduled and everyone would be on Twitter gushing over pics of the mattress on the front of the tractor (which was a great idea. Stimely is a VERY smart man) saying how Port is so dedicated and they don't give up ect. No track wants to use the raindate unless it's a last resort because almost 100% of the time, attendance will be down on the raindate. You know it as well as I do. Any track around here would've ran last night if they could. On the flip side, if they'd have cancelled, the same people whining about the wet track would've gave them shit for canceling when it hadn't rained since early in the day. Every track but Port Royal would've been in the same situation as far as that goes. Obviously it isn't everyone but there's quite a few who praise every decision or non decision Port makes then bitches when any of the other tracks do the same thing.

You're exactly right. Port is good at anticipating weather but last night, their track would've been the same way. We had a wet, cloudy and dreary 4 day stretch with a lot of heavy rain showers passing through and there was almost no wind. Selinsgrove did as well as anyone could have with those conditions.

Poured for maybe 8 minutes last night at Knoxville. Took a while to roll it in but the track was fantastic for the feature!
