i just read that. it also said Barry Jackson will be working with Kerry Madsen the rest of this season. Could Kerry Madsen possibly be in the CJB 5 car next year ???? I hope so , i think that would be cool

So what if Shane runs better the rest of the year? He already would have won one if he hadn't picked the wrong lane on a restart. I realize he won't be back in that car regardless but it might change some perceptions if he does.

I wouldnt be shocked if Kerry was back on the tour. The thing is the 2 car, and the 5 car are kinda intertwined. Id imagine that if the 2 team and Kerry wanted to do the WoO tour they probably could. I wouldnt be surprised if Tanner Thorson found his way into the 5 car for next year.

Shaffer deserves a good ride. Stand up guy and a pretty good racer.

I'm not terribly shocked by this. I like Shane & the 5 car but the results just aren't there this year. My buddies & I were talking about that team on our way to the Nationals & we said that unless they won the Nationals, we didn't see the combo working out. Still hope to see both on the trail next year

I as well am not very shocked by this. Watching some interviews at Eldora and then at Knoxville, Shane just appear to be enjoying himself. Of course his Nationals took a big turn in his heat and in a wrong direction. Then I read an interview with Gravel following the Nationals and he talked about leaving the 5 for the 41. Sounded like it was very tense last year, a lot of negativity and said it wasn’t fun at all. I had heard some rumblings from a somewhat inside source after Knoxville last year that Jackson and him were at odds. Pretty hard to replicate their season prior, though I’m sure Jackson’s competitiveness was boiling over, at same time I’m guessing Karl Kinser wasn’t a blast to be around when he wasn’t winning either. That article with Gravel really echoed what I had heard last year and the look on Shane’s face as of late seemingly shows the same thing. At same time Gravel said how laid back and a family atmosphere the 41 team has has been a key to their successes. At the beginning of the season there was a post about who would have a better season, Gravel and JJR, Macedo and KLR, or Stewart and CJB. Gravel will forever be known as a Nationals Champ and JJR has the most wins they’ve had in a season with a coup,e months left, Macedo and KLR seem to be gelling with multiple wins and Stewart is shopping for a ride in 2020. Guess that question has been answered. Someone said Kerry Madsen to 5....I honestly don’t think that would work as Jackson and Madsen are both pretty hard headed (yet very successful don’t get me wrong) and that doesn’t always breed success....or it could be a match that creates success. I hope Shane gets a good ride, he’s one of the good guys I feel.

I'd love to see Gio full time with the WoO before he goes to Nascar. Other possibilities for this ride.....JMAC, Shaffer, K. Madsen. I also think Cole Duncan is good enough for an Outlaw ride. Unlikely I know.....but that guy is good.

Look Shane has as about as many fans as this thread will actuall participate and is it not time to look at CJB as a bad team that had a good driver AKA "Gravel" and pissed him away. Shane never had a chance in that car and frankly is not a Woo caliber driver. Truth has been spoken now start the bashing of me to raise the thread count up to make it look like Shane has fans. When did anybody ever see a Shane Stewart shirt all year in the stands? Dont lie?

I don't have a CJB Shane Stewart shirt, but I did wear a Silva 57 Shane Stewart shirt to the track earlier this year.

I am going to throw a name out there, from left field, on who might be the new driver of the CJB #5 for next season.....Brent Marks. Would make sense, a Pa driver in a Pa car.

I wore a Shane Stewart shirt this year to the may race at Eldora. It was a shirt from last year as I did not want to buy a CJB car as I felt they made a mistake letting Gravel go. Their mistake was JJR's gain in retrospect. That being said, I don't think they are a bad team, and I think Shane is a WoO caliber driver. That is an opinion, counter to your opinion which you deam truth since you are the one who spoke it but, like it or not it is only your opinion. They have had speed this year but just did not gel as a team. Shane has won some big races in his career & can compete with any driver out on the Outlaw trail. This season is probably the worst for both the team & Shane so it is best for both to find a new home.

Only because I think he's set a record for lasting in a Roth car...I'm joking of course.

The statement issued by CJB stated that they "didn't mesh very well". While that may not be the whole story, I wouldn't be surprised at all if that was the main reason for the split. The CJB team hasn't looked that good all year. Whether the crew can't set the car up to feel comfortable for Shane or Shane can't explain what he needs, it doesn't really matter. They just don't work together very well. Good luck to both sides.
Whoever steps into that ride next year, should their eyes wide open. Two off years in a row and a growing reputation for being hard to work with isn't good.
Another commented posted that Shane isn't Outlaw caliber. Shane won 9 Outlaw features and was 2nd in points in 2015 so I doubt he forgot how to drive.

I would like to see Logan with a top tier team like cjb. I have to believe that he is working with a slightly lower caliber of equipment than kkr cjb klr tsr. I don't know how much drydene backing that team but before drydene they most likely had hardly any major backing at all. Logan may not want to leave his family owned team. But I'd like to see what he could do on the cjb team

Logan is better off attracting sponsors to the Shark team than to race for CJB.
There's something to be said for the security
